Finally got it done, pretty easy to make heres the ingredients:

• 6mm Black acrylic sheet
• 2mm any plastic, any colour since u wont see it, sheet
• 25 10mm red leds, 7-8000mcd 120 degree 20mA
• 3 80 ohm resistors 1/2w for 3 leds
• 4 30 ohm resistors 1/2w for 4 leds
• LDO voltage regualtor and usual parts
• Heatsink for the above and fixings

Looks pretty good, have you installed it yet? I hope with the LEDs facing "up" out of the window, instead of facing towards the rear, the people behind you will still be able to see them.

 

Yup it fits nicely in, yeah the leds face up and they are set in countersunk holes. Hmm if they faced at the rear still people would see them perhaps since they are wide angle ones. Have some other designs in my mind now u mention that! Could have them staggered and point out the rear or even use a transparent block of pespex and light it from the edges so u cant see the leds. Il post some pics later after it gets dark this side of the pond.

 

I have the "solid" one for my car, I still have the red lens, so it looks pretty much stock. His kits are pretty cheap.
