Stop me before I paint some black plastic trim...
The hoodscoop flappers on my '83 Z/28 are badly discolored. I've tried a bunch of different dressings and black plastic/vinyl restorers. I even tried.......peanut butter (yes). No difference.
Anything I can use on them, to restore their finish before I paint them black?

Painted them today. They look brand spankin' new now. Can't believe I wasted all that time with that other crap. While I was at it, I also painted the the rear hatch trim surround, that looks new now too.

Yeah peanut butter....
Supposedly it's supposed to release old wax and stuff from plastic trim. All it did for me was make a mess.

You have to be careful when using peanut butter. Some cars can have a bad allergic reaction to peanut oil.
Glad you got them looking good.

spray bombing your car is not bad as long as you do the prep work and do it right.
