Hood Louvers
Hi, I am sixteen and my dad bought me an 87 iroc and i was wanting to know if anybody had and hood louvers they could sell me cheap
welcome to the board, I don't have any for sale, but I just wanted to tell ya what the moderators will probably say, that these types of posts should be in the classified adds.
Anyway, check with www.thirdgenparts.com and www.thirdgenresource.com for used ones, also check ebay and of course the classifieds on this site.
Again welcome to the board, and the F-Body family

A little advice:
You may want to consider picking up a set of blisters from a 91-91 Z28. The pegs on the IROC louvers are plastic and break very easily, while the blisters have steel pegs. And yes, the blisters will bolt onto your hood. I did this switch myself, and I actully like the blisters better.
Oh, yeah. This should really be in the classifides.
One more thing...I wouldnt go with thridgenresource. They tend to be overpriced and the service is not very good. Check the Aftermarket Vendors board and see.

He's BSing you. They do come off. They are held on the same way as the plastic louvers. He just wanted you to buy the entire hood, or he doesnt know they come off. I know they do. I just bought a set a few months ago.

I paid 150 for the pair, and the guy also gave me a perfect headliner and 3 piece spoiler. May seem pricy, but if I'm right the dealers get like 60 for EACH of the old plastic louvers. I'm sure they get more for the blisters. Look through junkyards for a 91-92 with a mangled hood. If the hood is good, most yards wont sell just the blisters.
