Re: Japanese induction hood
well, i've all but given up on this. i'm tired of checking in and finding some cryptic response with no information in it. if i didn't know any better, i'd think someone was playing games. come to think of it, i'm not so sure i know any better...

Re: Japanese induction hood
I haven't had a chance to work on it in the past week since I was replacing the quarter panel on a friend's Z28. But, he came and got his car out of my driveway today and I'm planning on getting back to the hood tomorrow after work.
I have a line on an RS hood that I will be modding to look like the CF version once I am finished painting my 91. I should be starting on it in the next couple of months.

Re: Japanese induction hood
How many people would actually buy a fiberglass version? The reason that I ask is because if the demand is there I WILL build it and keep an updated thread on the build. For those of you that don't know yet I am putting the finishing touches on the Firebird version that I built (in the fabrication section). I have an RS hood that I could build as close to the actual CF hood as possible that could be used to make a fiberglass mold.

Re: Japanese induction hood
That would just be a layer of CF over a steel hood. $3-$400 is cheap for CF as a sheet is about that price alone.

He WANTS a CF version, but would gladly take a fiberglass one for $300-$400.

Re: Japanese induction hood
I would buy one (no matter if it is cf or fiber) if somebody would ship it to Germany.
Btw: I still believe that kandie ist still on it. Why shouldn't he if he wants the hood also for himself...
Greetings,
Simon

Re: Japanese induction hood
If it was made in fiberglass about 500 maybe 600 for one would be normal.Only problem with these cars not much of a aftermarket for hoods but give it time or make your own.I just want that cf z28 hood but i can't find anyone in japan that still makes it most have closed or just gone.

Re: Japanese induction hood
I have no idea yet. I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my steel version. Once it's done and the car is painted I'll start shopping it around to different companies to use as a plug IF they are willing to reproduce it in glass. Another member has given me contact info on two different companies but I'm waiting until it's completely finished and perfect.

From what I'm learning about CF lately, I'd actually prefer fiberglass.
I sure hope this hood comes to be.

Re: Japanese induction hood
WOW....this was like watching Transformers 2, so much hype! page 1 "I was like YES!!!" page 2 "is he gonna make it?" but page 3 " it was all an illusition! with a crappy ending ! i want my 15 minutes back !!!! lol... and you know looking at the pictures of the jap hood is really nothing special, like some one mention it looks like is just a 3" cowl hood with cut outs, the only bling factor is the "CF", no one here has it and the very looong name it has "Japanese induction hood " aka riceoutmaro aka r34wannab aka willgoveryfastbecuaseitlookslikeaGTR...

Ya,
Kandied is not the type of guy to flake on something like this. I hope nothing serious happened to him or the project.

Re: Japanese induction hood
speak for yourself firbster i'm enjoying my own... want to pony up $1,200 for a one off copy send me a check my "brother".
We've had issues with finding a distributor for the hood which has caused a wrench in the works unfortunately. As soon as we find one to bring costs down considerably things will continue until then it rests on a donar car. Those emailing me from over seas it will not happen just order it from japan.
