Yeah, I think the wrap around look the best and the 3 piece is ok but the plastic ones are just junk. Later.

They are metal and clamp on. I wanted to take them off to see how it would look, but the clamps are rusted and I'm afraid I'll break them.

Re: How about those 3rd gens with window louvers!
cragars are junk and the center/side window ones are junk.
cragars are stupid tall and far away from the rear window and bubbly...
the center slat/ side window ones dont look bad on a second gen but hideous on a 3rd gen.
What you guys are referring to are the abs side aluminum slat dealer option louvers. I have 3 sets of them that I've come across. 2 coming off the 2 thirdgens I own and one set in a junkyard for the amazing price of $10 because well the guy thought they were all plastic lol and you cant get money recycling them.

i was taking a closer look at mine (one peice, plastic, held on with clips) and i found the name "astra" stamped on it. i googeled it, and it turns out these guys are still around (as astra-hammond) and making a nice living making louvers for the new mustangs. i also found that they still sell the 3rd gen louvers through a cpl auto supply sites (around $300 new - yikes!!) i'm still trying to find the real manufacturer website, i'd like to see if you can just order a couple clips

Re: How about those 3rd gens with window louvers!
hey - i noticed that, and i got to thinking that i'm wasting my time looking for clamps, i only got a cpl that aint holding. i could prob just get that 3m stuff at home depot and put it on next to the broken clips. that would prob save a ton of time and trouble

Re: How about those 3rd gens with window louvers!
I would advise against the 3m doublestick tape. I heard some horror stories about using the doulbe stick tape on your louvers. that once it is on, the tape is not coming off the glass no matter what you try. is this a fact or myth i dont know a fellow mechanic told me against it when i bought my louvers. if find those clamps let me know

Re: How about those 3rd gens with window louvers!
double sided tape will come off the glass, just use a single edge razor blade, then use some acetone. 3m also makes a remover

Re: How about those 3rd gens with window louvers!
i'm thinking i'll have to wait til it warms up and take a closer look at them. because it uses clips, the tape might not help, might be too much of a gap
