Gearshift problems!

Is this right place to post this question? Hmm.. anyways, I unscrewed all the things around the shifter thingie and was trying to replace a lightbulb that makes the things light up (the reverse, drive, them things) and i got the light working, but the orange indicator thing is missing now.. what do i do?

You really should have posted this in Tech/General forum.

But to answer your question, I bet you blew a fuse when you unhooked it, check for that fuse and we will go from there. One question, do your dash lights work? If not, then it is most likely a fuse....

Expect to see this post closed anytime now....

They didn't have the orange indicators in 86. Started in 87, so unless yours was changed out previously, there's nothing missing.

That explains alot.. I couldn't figure out why my friend's '91 had an orange thing and mine didn't.. I guess there is more changes in the SC and the RS than I realized... thank you guys!! I feel really dumb now.. what would I do without the smart ones to keep me straight?

That's from my experience.

Check out this thread as well, for many other people's experience:

*smacks forehead*

You're right. I just lumped that in with the shifter ****. It's 88. I wish I hadn't cut mine up to put in the B&M. If I had the 86 back then, I could have put the plate from my 89 on it.
