how can i save my polished aluminum
My engine bay consists of polished aluminum and red powder coating... after a few months of being installed everything i have had polished is getting that white rust all over it; alternator, valve covers, throttle body, etc. Is there an easy way I can get my aluminum back to its clean shine? and is there a way to keep it from getting "rusted" again.

I would clean it all up again and have a clear powdercoat done to it or spray some clearcoat on it!

Clear Poweder coat is nice, but it is thick and can obstruct some of the shine / brilliance...
ZoopSeal makes a sealer for polished aluminum that seals it for 2years....

Re: how can i save my polished aluminum
Just make sure what ever you decide to do to protect them better that you all the calcium deposit off your aluminum. if you don't the corrosion will come back in no time and ruin what ever you put on top of it
Re: how can i save my polished aluminum
Avoid powder coating the alternator. Supposedly it keeps too much heat in and shortens the life of them greatly.
My vote goes towards zoopseal although I've never tried it.

A quick fix would be to go over it with aluminum polish.

Re: how can i save my polished aluminum
ya i saw the mothers polish at the store the other day with that polishing ball that goes into a drill, the extension for it looks like a good idea just to clean up the intake and inbetween the water pump and hard to get to areas also. I think I'm gonna pick that up and on the next nice day get to doing that.

Clear Powdercoat is the most common of those tho...alot of manufactures do this to valve covers.
