There are 2 versions of the borla cat back..an adjustable one and a non adjustable one...the adujustable splits into 2 pipes after the rear axle one goes straight out to the exhaust tips on the passenger side and the other goes into the muffler then exits out the tips on the drivers side...there are plates with different diameter holes that can be inserted into the passenger side tailpipe to adjust how much of the exhaust gets diverted into the muffler or comes straight out of the passenger side pipe

I originally purchased the Borla exhaust back in 1992 for my 86 Z28. The RS is now the benefactor of the Borla system with interchangeable plates. As far as installaton goes bak in 1992, I had in installed by a muffler shop. (I was not much of a gear head back then) With the introduction of the 1 5/8 SLP, I had to replace the plate with the smallest diameter hole. It was too loud. It sounds great at WOT with the small plate and somewhat quite when crusing. Here is another pic of the rear of the RS.

Damn that looks sweet. Right now I just have the stock borla muffler replacment on my RS. it doesnt sound too bad with the gutted cat and 2 1/4 inch i-pipe.

my friends 87 IROC has Borla on it, and well, i can hear him dump the clutch and go through the gears about 3-4 blocks away...god his car is badass
