THE CAR IS STAYING PUT!!!
THE CAR IS STAYING PUT!!!
After everything with my layoff, and advertising the car...having people come look at it, make offers, etc..etc..etc..Good old Dad put me to work, and now I have a good income again, so the car stays!!! I am excited to be able to keep it and tinker with it to make it absolutely perfect!! By the way...do any of you know anyone with a PT Cruiser? That is my new business. My father is the largest supplier of aftermarket PT Cruiser parts in the country, and we offer anything aftermarket for them at the lowest prices out there! His website is www.raceandstreet.com so go check it out!!!

Kicka$$,
Thank god for fathers. I am so glad to hear you are keeping it. I was wondering where you have been. Did you convert your car from FI to Carb? If so, I will e-mail you some questions that I have.
Good luck in your new venture........

Awesome! you have got to have one of the most bada$$ thirdgens i have ever seen in my life. It would have been a shame to have to get rid of it, just as it was near completion.

I don't have any numbers on it yet. I have been to the dragstrip twice, and was not able to get a timeslip either time. The first time, they were not letting street cars run because the promods were there. The second time, they were having a street night and just showing a win light with no times posted or time slips. I did however race a mustang that runs 12.60's at 107mph. I spun real bad and had to play catch up, then I ended up beating him by about 3 lengths.

I can see you have put countless hours and efforts into your ride, and the thing that shows the most in your ride is the love you have for it!
I can relate to the unemployed thing though. I've been laid off since the end of March and still no work.
So everything is on hold, sometimes I have to debate taking a dump if the toilet paper is low.

And who knows maybe this will be a new adventure for you.
Perhaps you could start a 3rd gen aftermarket division with your father. You would make a flat killing if you specialized in 3rd gen ragtops.
Perhaps a meeting with pops is in order??
Just trying to get you a boost in the corperate ladder.

Sweet Ride... I feel sorry for your customers as the PT Cruiser seems to be one of the ugliest cars on the market, but I would bet it's a pretty strong market.
BTW I hear the guy that designed the PT is now helping with the next F-Body generation (if there is one)... I hope he don't f*** it up...

There is definately a market for the PT Cruiser aftermarket. You either love them or hate them. I happen to like them, but my wife hates them. She can't complain though because I am making more now than I was before I got laid off!! The PT owners will buy anything on the market for their Cruisers. We carry everything from OOOOGAA horns to superchargers!!!
We carry everything from OOOOGAA horns to superchargers!!!

I have no opinion on the TP Cruiser, but I have seen some really cool looking ones around. IMO people only like it because it's a fad, some people reject for the same reason. I think they are really fun to cruise in, I drove one with a 5-speed. If the PT Cruiser wasn't popular, would you feel different about the looks? I don't even think they even look that bad. But then again some people thought the GHIA designed Mustang II looked awesome
. I for one, absolutely hate the II.I agree, people either like it or they hate the PT. So I guess I kinda like the looks of some of them (red ones with flames and chrome are cool).
GHIA MUSTANG II RULES!

CarNDrvr,
I just was wondering about some of the wiring that you may have had to change. I see though that you had an RS, was it a TBI? I have TPI, so the issues I may run into, you may not have had. It's amazing how God works. Your doing good, then in a hole with no light to see, then your lifted out, and running better than before. I'm glad to see your doing well.

The car was a TBI car. I haven't taken the TBI harness out yet, so it is laying on the intake right now going to nothing. From I have been told, I can just unplug it from the computer and remove the whole thing. Then remove the computer too. I also took the fuel pump out of the tank and replaced it with a piece of metal fuel line. Then I put an external Mallory fuel pump on it.
