Working on killing the amber tonight. Pics up tomorrow hopefully. Word to virgins on this mod......go slow. I'm using a blow dryer to help with separating the adhesive. These are 92' lights and I still cracked the bottom clips. Don't listen to Metallica during the mod, I would recommend Dido. And take as many cigarette breaks as needed cause your gonna come close to a breaking point, but dont give up.

I'll have pics up tomorrow. I have not took any pics of the car in a long time and I want to detail it first. I wasn't going to do a write up on the process because But it turned out really great. I still need to polish and buff them but overall because I have a black/red Z03 car the amber being gone really completes the appearance. Now I just need lowering springs. If anyone has questions, just ask.

When I did my clear to red, all I used was a razor blade along the edges, then a flat-blade screwdriver to pry them apart SLOWLY. Then used the razor again to help separation some more....No problems on multiple sets of lights either......

Guys, I know what its like to wait on pics and I'm sorry I haven't got any up but my fuel pump went out the other day and yeah.... I'm really pissed because I have put maybe 7,000 miles on this one since replacing it. Next time I see it I'll shoot it even though it wont be detailed like I want it to be cause I know yall are tired of waiting.

Yup there is....BUT....I'm always interested in how people did it (in case someone comes up with a better or improved way of doing this).

Stephen's idea about using a razor is new to me (great idea).

I also have an extra set of tail lights to "practice" on

Ok, well, here is a pic of the hazards on and brake down to illustrate how dagum close the painted amber matched the existing red. I'm gonna pickup a STS setup sometime in the future, but as for now it just looks great without that yellow. I did a 1/2 coat first to get a feel for the spray and then followed with 4 full coats approx 30 minutes apart. After each coat I held the lens up to a shop light to compare the red shades so I got it perfect. I let it dry overnight in two paper grocery bags. Make sure you tape off the amber completely like I did. This stuff gets everywhere. I have seen horror stories on here where it spit into the reverse (clear) side. Just remember to spray evenly because you are painting a smooth surface and the paint is thin and runny so it can pool up in the corners and look like crap when you hit the lights. I'll have daylight picures up soon, I need to wax the car and it's going to the exhaust shop tomorrow (cut out). Ignore the tag, it's expired anyways.
