I call mine Roc-z, everyone knows it as Roxy though. There's also The Roc, which I use from time to time, which ever fits the mood

Being loyal to the Autobots, I created my own Transformers-sounding name, "Scattergear." It slips a little between first and second...
Friend of mine named her '89 RS "Burnout." Not so much because it laid rubber, but more because it looks like the interior should be burned-out and replaced.

I'm from Boston and a huge Bruins fan. They always play "Black Betty" during the games and so my girlfriend started calling her Betty. The name stuck ever since.

My 1990 is Ecstasy and the 1991 is Purple Rain, we were going to paint her metallic plum crazy but wound up doing white with purple stripes and headlight buckets.

But kinda has two names, "pamala" but since I'm going through an hard time with college and low paying job.....Thinking about renaming it "patience", since after all this car has already taught many things and I have to be patience through tough times and fix her up piece by piece (saving up to rebuild my zz4).

Re: Have you named your Cars?
I named mine "Munch." The more I thought about it, it seemed hard to go wrong with a verb!! When I got him, he had a corvette L98 in it that had a lot of work done hopping it up to around 350 hp. "Munch" was appropriate for something that could make a meal out of the rear meats.
Long story, but after the "shop vandal" came around stealing and swapping parts, clipping wires out of the wiring harness and dumping crap in the valve covers, I started completely over with a 305 tpi out of an 89 donor car and completely re-machined, rebuilt, and furbished with new parts from the heads down. "Munch" earned his name once again, but this time by making a meal out of my wallet.
All and all, it was all worth it. I got a bone stock factory correct tpi Trans Am that can be diagnosed and maintained with the factory manual. I don't have to remember what "hot rod" mod's were made and what parts I had to change to make it work. It is all factory part numbers and and I don't have to guess as to what is compatible with what.
Also, the corvette 350 provides a great start on another cool build. The L98 is being torn down and gone through again, the wiring is being gone over to find and fix all the crap that was meddled with and that motor is going to go in the next 5 year project - a 1971 Camaro named "Brutis."
It is funny how what you name them they start to become.

I haven't named my 83 Z28 yet. But 85 4x4 diesel burb's official name is Alice from the resident evil movies...just can't kill her. Some other names used have been The Burbinator, The Beast, and The Extractor. My girlfriend has named her white 90 RS Pearl.

Re: Have you named your Cars?
To me, cars are male or female depending on what make/model. My '85 Blazer was Beast, male. It was a masculine vehicle, blue (like the comic character of same name), and in beastly condition when I got it. All my others have been female: Glenda (good witch of Wizard of Oz 'cuz she always gets me home safely), Black Pearl, and a short-lived car named Piece of Sh** (an unreliable car...it died when it took an F-250 up the a$$ while stopped at a red light).
My '89 Trans Am is referred to as the M u l l e t Mobile by a friend, but I am thinking Windcharger after the Transformer character from the 80's cartoon (he was an early 80's red firebird, and mine's red too). But all cars tell you their name after you get to know them, and since my Trans Am doesn't run yet I don't know the name. It will come.

My Blazer got the name Krusty after I got her, but it took about a year or so before I really knew the name. My Camaro hasn't given me a name yet, aside from PITA since I always find 2 issues for every 1 I fix, but that will change once she gets on the road. Supreme Member
