Re: John Covans Thunder Road Guage Panels!

Just a note on John Covans stuff, the Carbon Fiber "look" pieces look like crap. It's very fakey looking and just cheap. I sent the one that I purchased for a 64 GTO back to him in exchange for a black one.

You can order it with or without Auto Meter Gauges.

Summit also sells it.

It seems to be a descent piece... seemed a little flimsy for holding all the gauges but probably isn't. The GTO dash is a much bigger piece then the Camaro one.

I have the fakey carbon fiber Covan dash plate. I went with Auto-Meter Phantom II's. I figure if I get tired of the carbon fiber look it's easy enough to scuff and paint.

Actually without the camera flash lighting it up the carbon fiber doesn't show up real good when installed in the dash.

Holes for turn signals are not pre drilled but it would be easy enough to add some small lights for signals. Also would need high beam indicator added if wanted.

Re: John Covans Thunder Road Guage Panels!

Here's a picture of my black Thunder Road gauge panel with Autometer American Muscle gauges. Green LEDs are turn indicators, blue is high beams (looks clear in the picture), red is parking break engaged, and orange (hidden in this picture) is check engine (which does nothing on my car since I've got a non-computerized carbed 350 in my Camaro.) Steering wheel is a 14" split spoke from Billet Specialties.

I'm not always a fan of aftermarket gauges, but this setup does look quite nice.

Re: John Covans Thunder Road Guage Panels!

those 3" gauges are way too small, and you can't even see the 2 lower ones.
