Since the 3rd gen is such an addiction for alot of us I was just wondering how many 3rd gen's (camaro or firebird) each of us has owned. Personally Im on my 2nd (1988 and a 1989--both 5.7 litre IROCS).

1st car 88 iroc- drunk drive smashed the car
2nd car 89 formula- motor blew
3rd car 91 trans am that i own right now

 

I have two. First was the daily driver with the 3.1L V6, a 92 RS. Then I decided to get something to work on, an 89 RS with the 305TBI, and have mostly done just suspension work to it.

88 305 5spd bird drove it till it rusted apart it was sacrificed for the greater good i use it for parts now black

88 auto th375 trans 3.73 mini spooled rear t/a current project building a motor 350 carbed red need cam ideas i want that lopey sound with everyday driveability

92 rs 305 700r4 current driver white nothing special

also had a 95 6 banger that would fry the (tire) completley off ugly coral green

they are definetly addictive i cant imagine driving anything else

 

still on my first, came with 55000 miles i added a other 90000 miles and 6000 thousand in upgrades and repairs some nitrous and she still runs strong

I agree, these cars are very addictive. I'm not sure what it is exactly about them, but they just have a way with people, lol.

I've owned 3 since I was 15...

First Car: 1987 Firebird 2.8\t-5 (Stolen by my own dad and totaled)

Second Car: 1984 Platinum Silver Z-28... Originally was a 305 H.O.\t-5 car... Dropped in a mild 327 and ran 12's all day long... (Stolen and totaled by a guy I was selling it to)

Current Car: 1991 Z-28, Heavily Moded and Lo-Jacked just so the past doesnt repeat it-self... haha

 

i'm on my second. the first was a blue 85 camaro, it killed a few transmissions and then popped a head gasket and i was tired of dealing with it for the moment so i sold it. very stupid move on my part. now i bought my second a white 84 camaro, it killed a head gasket and i used the down time to do a cam swap. proof that with age comes wisdom.

 

counting 1 parts car i have owned 4 . my last/recent one is a 91r/s .

 

I had an 82 Trans Am currently have a 89GTA and a 86 Firebird.

However, I guess my situation is a little different than most people as the majority of them have been parts cars.

Right now I have nine personal thirdgens including my first car ('82 Firebird) that I've owned since 12/11/89.

 

AM ON MY #4 HOW SWEET ALWAYS LOVE THE STYLE!! THATS IS ON THE CAMARO THE TRANS AM ALSO LOOKS GOOD BUT NOT LIKE THE CAMARO.

Had an 87 IROC, it was totaled by a Lincoln Nav. 2 wks after paint!
Then i bought my 91 Z28, It was gutted, and the transformation began!
5yrs later it has another motor, trans, rearend, suspension, brakes, interior, etc..
I like the style of these cars, also I LOVE the way they handle at SPEED!
I am grateful for this site, and all the members who have helped me out along the way! You guys rock!

 

I just bought my first a few weeks ago. 1986 Trans Am. I always loved the look of these cars

 

1, My 88 GTA L98. Got it with 77,000 Miles, it now has 82,300. Got it in late August 08, when I was 16 a week before I got my license. Drove it all the way across the country to Las Vegas, and had a damn good time doing it. Mostly it's my play car because I don't take it to school, I just take it to friends houses, dates, and just for rides. I love this car so much.

3- 1991, Z28, 5.0L TPI, t-top, red

 

I got mine when i was 17 (18 now).

1992 Camaro RS, Body has 159,XXX, Motor/Trans has 60k

I plan to add a 91-92 Z28 or Firebird to the family once i get the RS fixed up.

 

Bought first one 87 GTA for my wife. I was storing it for a friend and she liked the way it looked even though it was wrecked. It came with an 89 formula 350 for a parts car. I stripped it and scrapped it. (rusty)
Then I bought a rolling chassis from a member here. Then a 91 car as a parts car for that my current daily driver project. Stripped that one and scrapped that one too.

I guess 4 but, I took two off the road to save two more so I guess I'm even.

I think they are addictive, I am a first gen firebird guy since the eighties but like how affordable and available the thirds are. ( my 69 will always be my favorite cars though)
I can buy whole cars for what some parts for my 69 cost!

 

First was a 84 Berlineta Blew it up and had no place to work on it.

Second I think was a 87. GTA That had the 5 speed and 355 TPI. Bought at the dealer that rebuilt the motor and the clutch went out in 3 weeks (ha ha not my fault). Turned it back in the the dealership due to frustration from the clutch and breaking down 2 other times. Still have somewhat of a anger problem but dam I miss that car.

Third was a 87 rs with a 5 speed and v-6. It ran ran real good for a v-6. I could easily mash 130mph out of it. Got in lots of trouble in this one and eventually totaled it. Threw a 6' chain link fence and bounced off 2 trees in some guys yard. Still a stupid Kid.

Fourth is a 89 tbi RS. Love the way it carves the corners but dam its slow. Traded a low mile 1990 zx-10 Ninja for it. Wish I had my bike back. Mush older but still stupid
