My first f body was a 1983 Mecham racing TA with a crossfire 305 and at 18 I smashed it. I replaced it with a 1983 trans am with a sbc 400. The body was to rusty and it was sold. The next car came 10 years later that a 1989 iroc with a 5.7. I have spent all year restoring. Then a 89 rs. I also just picked up a 1983 daytona trans am with 65k.

My dad had a 82-83 trans am (can't remember) a 1988 Trans am drag car, he also had a white 1989 Formula 350, now I have a 1988 Firebird Formula, 1987 Trans am GTA and a 1987 Camaro iroc-z

 

Just one Z28. Ordered it through GM while i was overseas. Picked it up on 20 May 1982 in St Louis MO. 4 barrel, 4-speed, 3.42 posi. Dark Blue color code 29. Pics maybe someday.

I'm on my fourth one.
First: 82' Z28 (my first car) was a piece, but i loved it
Second: 82' Z28 parts car i bought to fix the other one.
Third: 89' IROC-Z 5.7, got it for 2,000. I drove a total of 8 hours round trip and ended up waiting 7 hours in front of their house because the wife lost the key to their shop where the car was. drove it for about a year then it was stolen and wrecked.
Fourth: 87' IROC-Z parts car..used damn near every piece off this thing to rebuild my 89', it was totaled...but i love that thing way too much to see her off to the crusher and it's worth more to me then scrap metal price. finally got it on the road again. front clip is mis-aligned and the driver's rear quarter panel is still smashed, but it runs beautifully and thats all i need.

I've had 3 .... 2 T/As and 1 Iroc.

Had a 69 camaro, and a 78 T/A.

 

I've owned two. I sold my 86 IROC, but I kept my 92 RS.

 

I now own two and had a 1984 T/A w/ Aero Pkg and t/tops in 1984 and a 1989 GTA w/ Digital Dash in 1996. Today I bought a 89 GTA Convertible to go with my 92 Z28 Convertible.

Ooops! Make that 3 3rd gens counting the parts car with title I bought 5 years ago. I'd really like to make it 4 and have a 3rd gen daily driver. However, I'd really like to have one Trans Am from every generation.....at some point. I got a 78 TA that needs finished. I work all the time and I just don't have the time and love in me to make that one happen very soon. It will be more like 3 years to complete that one. So that leaves a 67 or 68 to complete it off.

 

One for now but I would love to get a 91-92 Z for me and give the RS to my wife.My RS and yes thats me in it lol,local third gen meet.

1990 Firebird purchased new in 1990. Auto V6 Brilliant red metallic. (the only v6 and only new car I've ever owned) Trans Am appearance package (ground fx). Traded in for a mint 1997 Black 4th Gen in 1999.
1984 T/A 5speed L69 HO purchased with 42,000 miles for ha ha ha $650 at an Otay Mesa Auction in 2000. Sold 2003 for $4200. T tops.
1991 Black GTA with all black leather interior, purchased in 2001 in mint condition for $3900. Sold in 2013. The BEST third Gen I've ever owned. Flowmaster catback exhaust, and Billstein struts/shocks that thing ran and drove like a dream.
1991 Formula LB9 with a 5 speed 3.42 gears. The funnest 3rd gen I've ever driven. Purchased in 2002 sold in 2003. Bright red T tops.
1991 Formula 350 purchased in 2011 Dark Green Metallic 50,000 miles purchased off E bay for 5 grand. May be up for sale later this month.

21 others that were purchased and sold within a few months.
Believe it or not one of the coolest third gens I've driven/owned was a 1991 Regular Bird with the TBI 305 and 5 speed, just a nice driving car.

So that adds up to 27 or so, loved them all. The only one left is "Hulk" the 1991 Formula 350 with 60,000 miles and going strong.

I'm an addict too haha... I have had 7 over the years:

1986 Silver Z28, over it for 17 years, complete nut and bolt restoration, it was my first car, won lots of show and shines with it, sold in 2013.
1987 GTA, Gunmetal hardtop 5.7L, 48k miles, just sold it to buy the 1LE
1983 Trans Am, ZZ4, AFR 2.02 heads, 6-speed, ford 9-inch, hated driving it and it was parted out a few years back
1984 Trans Am, black with gold ground effects and decals, college car, vinyl interior, 5-speed, no radio, no AC, no power options. Car was tons of fun to drive, I drove it everywhere. Loved it and wish I still had it. Sold it in 2002.
1984 Trans Am 15th anniversary, bought to fill the void of the other 84 I sold, rare Canadian car documented back to day 1, looked nice but drove horrible. Sold it in 2006.
1987 IROC-Z, 11k miles survivor car, 5.7L, all original, love it and still have it.
1991 Z28 1LE, 5k original miles, survivor show car, just took delivery of it, love the car!

Have always loved the cars, but there was a big gap (27 yrs) between the first purchase and the 2nd one.

In general, I like all cars from the 80's, have a few other 80's relics in the garage that arent F bodies.
