Ok, I just bought a set of rear window louvers for my 87 iroc. It doesnt have the mounting brackets or also called hinge mount plate. I need this part. Please help me find one or msg me if you have one. I've called Classic Industries, SFX Performance, and checked the chevy dealership and nothing. They are the factory aluminum louvers with the hinge mount.

 

The only numbers on it are: US PAT: 4453762
4469366
Then at the top it says: AAI3727B

hello i have a plastic rear window louver (3-piece) that i got from jcwhitney.com it has 2 hinges on top and about 6 stick on plates that hook onto the window and ahear to the window...i am not sure if yours mounts the same bt i am assuming it probably does...but made of aluminum. you can call them and see if you can get the hardware kit. otherwise you could just make them...there just small metal squares with a lip that goes around window with tread welded to the middle. you could just forget the lip part cut small 3 by 2 squares and weld just the threaded part to the bracket and put 3m tape on the bottom and stick them were you need them. i hope either idea will work for you. it is also good to see that i am not the only one who also like the rear louvers

 

i looked on the jcwhitney site and i cant find any window louvers listed?

 

i bought it about 4 years ago...you can try calling them and see what they say. but they have had rear louvers for many different style of cars...hope you find them,but if not try making them....there really nothing at all

 

Could i just use double sided 3m adhesive? Would that be strong enough? I dont have any resources for welding.

 

I mean i dont want the wind getting under the louvers and having them fly off.

 

Im in the same boat dont have the hardware perhaps if someone has pictures of the hardware I would be able to fabricate what would be required

Mine is the Chastain Shadow louvers but it is the three piece so it should be similar.
It has the metal clips that lock around the metal frame of the rear hatch glass and then the main body is on a hinge that is connected to a metal bracket that mounts under the black buttons (thats what I call them they're like vibration dampeners or something) that holds the main piece in place. The side pieces have a long thin bracket that connect the main body at the metal bracket (under the buttons) and then the sides are clipped on with a metal bracket that is shaped to hug the underside of the side framing of the glass.
At least thats what I figured out from mine as thier where no instructions but any ways heres a pic I have of it on the car.
(I'm taking it off because I'm not sure if I like it or not)

i found a set of these chastain shadows as well, but i was fortunate enough to find the mounting brackets with them, even though they were rusted to sh*t. i dremel'd the crap off of them and primed them and painted them an anti-rust black. i just painted them and i'm inside now, so i cant get pictures of them as of right now. but as mentioned earlier, they are basic metal plates that can be handmade. also, the hardware are just little tiny phillips head screws with 9mm hexhead locking nuts, or at least that's what came with mine.

i am hoping that i can get some assistance. I have the same set that you were thinking about putting on your car. I took these off my 1992 trans am about 5 years ago. When I removed them I put the top stainless steel brackets in a bag and marked it louvers. I have all the side clips still on the side louvers. They look like they have been homemade but? Do you have a picture of the hardware for yours. I would appreciate it. I have a guy that seems to want to buy them but im not sure if its all there. Could you help please.

I'm certain that My louvers are chastain's I think that everything is there but if you send me the hardware Picts I can verify that the louvers I have are complete. The gentleman is going to drive 4 hours roundtrip in his 1987 RS and wants me to help put them on, to make sure they fit I guess? I figure if I can verify my louvers as complete I can call him and let him know.. By the way your car looks nice with them, I have looked at the diff. Styles for a couple days and I think the chastain's are the best looking louvers outta the whole bunch. Thanks Wes

 

I think I have a set sitting around. When I sold my old set of steel louvers, I didn't have the mounting hardware. I found it when i gutted out the back of the interior. I'll look and see if i still have it.

Here's the GM part number for the crager metal louvers like the ones on my Berlinetta. I am missing two of the mounts too, luckily not the hinged ones though...
