Well, at first I was going to suggest you get an old beat up 4x4 truck for use in poor weather... but then I read the other thread. I'd dump the car off in a heart beat. I still like the old truck and cool car idea though I don't know about progressive but my insurance is cheaper with two cars then one.

By the way... I can relate to your story. I had a custom built supercharged '94 Vette that I spun into a dirt field. Scratch that... sand field. You would not belive how many places sand get in to . I sold the car immediately. The next guy put $1400 in repairs after one day of ownership and it continued to break down on a weekly basis for months after that.

I have a friend here who went from those exact cars (almost): from a 91 Camaro to a 94 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 (mint). He regretted it. Even though the Jeep was in such great shape, he missed the speed and power.

But it's apparent you're not up to the level of work that's in store for you. You sound like you've already made up your mind.

well guys today i had alot of thinking to do, i sat on a stool at work and just stared at my car on the jack stands. all i could see was this beautiful car that everyone awwed over. well its been a hard thought of getting rid of her and the only other thing in the picture was the $ that i have put into it. with the purchase of the car i have well over what i could ever get.

i have decided that no matter what i get i will never be happy unless its in a fast camaro. i can remember the day that i got it out this summer. june 19 i think was the exact day. i was the happiest man on earth. i called everyone i knew. and just went cruising all night. well that got old, and soo did the speed but you love things more when they are gone, and the thought of the ROC being gone. i just cant imagine.

well i found a 350 block bored .030 with all the rotating parts there. it just needs assembled and i know i can do that or have it done for free. the guy is asking a decent price for the motor, and if i get it assembled i will swap motors, i figure it will take a couple days, and i think this time i am getting headers, and some other things.

well the trans is getting rebuilt while its all out, and then the motor and trans will go back in as one. and i will be almost done with the car.

but everything is for sale. if i get an offer when its completed, i will most likely take it. but the only reason will be to pay for college.

well tell me what you think guys. yes or no, yea or nah.

thanks everyone and if i do get rid of it, i will still stick around here. everyone is soo nice.

Man RARE-ROC YOU ARE CRAZY..... that car seems to be your pride and joy...... Ive read your posts since you started posting... and i cant beleive youd even think about it. Some guy offered me 6k for my car so i sold it w/o thinking (i would have made about $1500 off of it) the next day i callled him back and said i really wanted it back and made a big mistake.... he made me give him 6200 which was fine....... i would have paid 6500. Rare i think you should keep the car and save your money for college and quit modding it. Imagine in 30 years when you have that BAD @$$ iroc Z 350, just think all the new cars will be front wheel drive hydrogen or something, and youll have this iroc z all your kids will want to drive it to dances graduation etc.... Everyones jaw will drop when they see it..... i think your nuts for even thinking about doing this...... to answer your yea or nay F*CK NO DONT SELL IT!!!

Man Jarrad , I went thru the same thing when I blew my motor in MAY , well , it was already sold ...It blew up 3 days before the guy was to pick it up . But , now that my LT1 swap is almost done I know I woulda seriously regretted letting this car go . If your in a position to where you must sell it I guess theres not much you can do , BUT if you have the means to keep it dont sell it man .

well guys i found a motor, so i might fix it.

but then i sat down with my sister(21) and we talked about my car and my truck and if i sold the car how i would get a jeep.

and i have come to some conclusions, i am going to buy that 350 4bolt .030 over. and then put everything in my storage shed, then slowly take the engine and trans out. have them both rebuilt and then have one bad A$$ IROC. and i might start to be happy. i think that i will give my dad $2000 and then just do a long rebuild of the car. like all the way through college.

and derek. how much was your LT1 and how hard is it going in?

and i am pondering fuel injection. but i do know that i am going to learn how to burn my own chips if i keep the FI.

thanks everyone .

Well a friend of mine bought a wrecked 96 Z for various things so I got a screaming deal on the motor . I got motor/ harness , radiator and fans and a bunch of misc. stuff for $800 .
Mechanically this swap is cake , but right now Im stuck on wiring which is proving to be really difficult . Should run by next week though . I thought this would take a couple weeks to do , but here its been almost 2 months and its not done yet .

Good luck with your car , sounds like u got a plan now.

Glad you made a decision, I had a Purple 92 RS for my first car, that was my pride and joy, It started breaking soon after i bought it and i ended up fixing something new in it every week, I got tired of that and sold it and bought a grand prix, the engine blew in that and i paid 1400 to get it fixed, i regreted selling that car and miss it a lot, but now i have another Camaro and im not getting rid of it! You dont miss em' till they are gone.

well no matter what it means to me. it will still be only a 6-7000 dollar car, so i am not going to put any money into it. since i have invested about 9-10000 already. no more. i dont want the car or the hassles. its up for sale (Check the classifieds) and i want it gone. i am not in the mood for camaro sh*t anymore.

thanks everyone. and there are times in your life when you have the time money and patience and now is not one of them. thanks guys for all your help over the last year or so.
