Polishing with orbital buffer ???

Ok, so I got this orbital buffer/waxer thing and want to use it to shine my damn car up. I've also got a bottle of 3M imperial hand glaze. But the thing just has one pad.

So..... what do I do, and how do I do it?

be very careful, and if you havnt used one, your better off not learning on your car.I have seen people ruin paint wih these things.Yes it can be used with good results if you know what your doing.Have you already tried to hand apply polish/wax with bad results? If you dont know how to use one then doing it by hand will look just as good if not better. If you must use it then practice on something else. You will need more then one pad also.

you're thinking about a rotary buffer. any beginner can use an orbital buffer and not screw anything up. you can buy extra pads for around 7 bucks at walmart or the like. you'll definitaly need at least three.

I agree if you screw up your paint using and orbital you've got some issues.

I use the big fluffy pads for applying the polish/rubbing compound. I work probably a 3x3 area at a time. Going back and forth then working it up and own. Let the buffer do the work, don't press down on it. The more you use it put lighter and lighter pressure on. Then I'll switch to a terry cloth bonnet to remove the polish. Pretty simple./
