They look like they will work but your lights are the hide-aways, make sure you measure correctly before installing them and when they pop up & down!

Re: DDM HID Headlight Kit Install (Trans Am)

Those fog lights Probably dont have a cut off shield & they are tiny.So your output wont be that impressive.Id spend my money on dedicated headlamp (preferably HID) projectors.

Plus they'll look like two beady little eyes once mounted.

The cutoff shield isnt for you.Its to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.Your already doing that with those ebay headlamps. So just keep what you got already.

Re: DDM HID Headlight Kit Install (Trans Am)

When the shield is up, the projector is in lo-beam mode. With the shield down, its hi beams on.The solenoid (motor) is what shifts the shield from lo to hi beam.I would'nt exactly call it motorized.

Re: DDM HID Headlight Kit Install (Trans Am)

Not really. The solenoid would be activated by the hi-beam switch. It would use the same wire/circuit that activates the hi-beams in the old halogens. An HID harness would make things P&P too.

No. If you don't wire it up, it simply won't move. Wire it up & you'd have Hi-Lows though.

Not sure if you can pass Inspection without Hi/Lows though.

Re: DDM HID Headlight Kit Install (Trans Am)

Run the bulbs on both side thru the back of the assembly, like so:When doing this, the wires from the back of the HID Bulbs *blue and black for me* will go straight into the OEM block as pictured! blue on top one and the black one to the right one.

im not sure if you mentioned HID fog lights but I just recently did mine and damn I love em.. Not to many people get pissed at night cause the car is pretty low... And I did the low beams with some knock off "projectors"...

You could hook up a different light, like a small simple bulb to see if it lights, if you don't have a meter to test power output with.

Re: DDM HID Headlight Kit Install (Trans Am)

Crazy idea hear. First ill say sorry don't mean to take your thread in a different direction.. I just fingered that this would be a good place to aske about my idea I had about head lights. If you want pm me your thoughts.

My idea was to take a power mirror, get rid of glass and some how put it behind the head light. To attach the head light to the power mirror sevo. Then from inside the car you can aim the lights.. I have never taken a power mirror apart...

Tell me I'm crazy..Tell me it's off topic..or if I should start my own thread about it..I just thought with all the work you are doing with head lights. That you could give me some idea if this would work...

Thank you

Re: DDM HID Headlight Kit Install (Trans Am)

it can probably be done with some fab work and probably some clearance (id imagine)

but like 1LE said, they already make projector housings that do that, would just somemore wiring and another ****.

Nice work on the headlights. Hadn't really thought about it a whole lot myself. Just installed a new set of fog lights though and was really impressed with their output so I'm guessing this will be on my to do list real soon.
