Need opinions on this window tint please?
I purchased this precut tint off of ebay and installed it on my side windows. It was supposedly 5%, but after applying it, you can clearly see into the vehicle and looks just as light, if not lighter than my neighbors car who has 20%. Now, I have attached some pictures, which were taken after I had already ripped the tint off (hence why its crinkled), and then taped it back up to the window for the pics. As you can see, you can see quite clearly my sound deadening matting as well as a dark blue roll of painter's tape on the floor inside the vehicle, and this is on an overcast day. Just want some opinions as to whether you folks think this is really 5%. Thanks

Definitely not 5%. I'd say it's lighter than 20% and closer to 35%. I have 5 on the hatch of my car with 20 on the door windows and it's very hard to see into it from just a couple of feet away on a sunny day.

It is hard to tell from the pics, but it sounds like you did your own research already.
When compared to your neighbors car ( known to be 20 percent) is the best way to tell. From the pictures it is not 5 percent or limo tint that stuff is hard to see through.

With ebay ya never know, any fine print about them rating their stuff backwards, so you would want to be ordering 95% blockage film, not 5%.

It is going to make some difference....Take some of that film into a local window tint shop and do a compare..that'd be the only way to tell. I agree with Gumby...sometimes on ebay you really don't know what Ur gettin.

Anything 5% is just too damn dark. I have 20% all the way around on my SRT-4 and I think its perfect:

Its not so dark that you can't see in, but I've also never had a problem with the law either. I've driven it both in Idaho (30% max) and Tennessee (30%) and never had anyone question anything about it.
I do sometimes have to roll down the windows at night to see, so any darker and I think it'd just be too dark.
My '91 Z28 had tint on it when I bought it, so I'm not sure what it is, but I'm betting its 20% as well.
