If I understand you correctly... I believe that the IROC hood louvers and the 91/92 hood blisters are swappable; the hoods should be identical.

The hoods are identical. I installed '91 blisters on my '87 hood.

no, you cant just screw them down on to an rs hood which is what i think you are thinking about doing. the 91-92 hoods indent as well as the iroc hoods. they're the same hoods with just differnt types of blisters/louvers.

There is defeniately an indent under the blisters ... but is the indent required? - I don't know.

Think of it from Chevy's point of view. They want hood blisters on the 1991 Z28. To cut costs, the cheapest way to do this was to design the blisters around an already existing Z28 hood with intents. That's why the hood for 1991 - 92 Z28's are the same as the previous year's Z28/IROC-Z's.

Willie - I understand (understood) what you are saying. The question is (or was brought up) - Can you install the blisters on a regular RS hood that doesn't have the indents? I can't remember what the bottom of my blisters look like and conclude whether or not the indent is actually required for a proper fit or if the indents are just there (for the reasons you mentioned).

Classic Industries or the GM dealer have them.

#12505477 for the left side
#12505476 for the right side

It think they go for about $160 each.

The bottom of the blisters are flat while the hood is curved,so no they wouldn't fit.

I bought a pair of these hood blisters, and my body work guy said it was possible to put them onto my RS hood. The blister are not straight, they curve just as the hood does. Just a few thoughts.

if you're looking for something for a flat hood, these ought to be pretty easy to adapt (HS 120 or 121), and they are a lot cheaper than trying to find a set of louvers.

NOTE: these are not the same size as stock blisters, and will not work in an indented hood to the best of my knowledge.

or, if you don't want to deal with the drilling and fabbing, pick up an iroc hood. They're out there for $100 - $150, and a set of the stock blisters, which are usually $125 - $175.

I got my blisters for $80, but they needed some fiberglass work.
