Just got back from the Joliet, IL Autobahn car show which was a fundraiser for the Will County Humane Society. It was a five dollar entrance fee, but it was worth it. It turned out to be a car show and road racing event with a lot of nice cars both racing and showing.

I drove my IROC down there, not for show, just to clear out the cobwebs. I'm going to try and post the pictures I took which I though were pretty cool. I just can't figure out how to post pics in the message so that they are normal size, all the pics I took are about 2.0MB so I cant even attach them normally.

Can anyone explain the process of including the pics into the message for me?

Ok, I tried the link and it works, so... sweet.

There were only four 3rd gen firebird's running around the track and no 3rd gen camaro's! I have already started my search for a camaro shell originally equipped with a five speed to turn into an SCCA car. I'm going to have to start looking for sponsorship, and other stuff, but I hope to be burning hot laps by next year.

Hey Roc THIS, I feel your pain... I also went to the Hooters car show in Downers Grove off of Butterfield Rd this morning, and went to the Route 66 car show in Berwyn yesterday. I went on yahoo and typed in Illinois car shows and got a huge list extending through October I think.

Honestly it did cross my mind to put a post up in the mid-west region section about this car show but figured people wouldn't read the thread. I think from now on I should just post them up in the mid-west section for all to see.

We need more 3rd gen representation at these events in my opinion.

My car is down at this point with a mysterious injector problem otherwise I would be at every single show in the area !

 

I'm from McHenry, IL but i'm stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. I miss all the car shows I use to bring my 91 Camaro RS to but she has been sold for awhile and I have myself a 89 Firebird now. I'm just deployed and bored and hearing about IL car shows brings me back.

 

I think I will... btw, there is the Good Guys show coming up in Joliet at Chicagoland Speedway on Sept 21-23rd, and the Cantigny car show in Wheaton on the 19th, I'm thinking about registering my car for the Cantigny event.

No I just picked it up from a guy down south this spring . There was a yellow one around here before but I have not seen it in a couple years . It used to sit in the CVS parking lot on Caton farm and Essington .

 

Ahhh, my internet at work doesn't let me look at that website, I just have to wait till I get to a Morale Tent to look at them, thanks though.

 

Well nice find on the yellow IROC, that's a good find... rare! Get that injector problem fixed so you can take advantage of the last few nice days here before winter hits, lol.

Car Lover I'm sorry to hear that you can't view the pics, but hopefully you'll be able to soon.

I also just downloaded the Cantigny entrance form and cut them a check, so I'll be entering my car into the show on the 19th. My car is nice but by no means a show winner, so I'm doing it just for fun and to check out the other cars. I'm already looking forward to it!

Man all this talk of Plainfield/Joliet car shows makes me remember living there. I miss the big chicago style car shows.
