Re: WOW can anyone tell us anything about this back end ?
Sorry David. That is NOT a notchback... Notch backs didnt have sides that angled back almost to the edge of the decklid.
That looks like a custom job... I cant recall seeing one just like that before.
But...there were tons of companies making aftermarket parts for these cars back in the 80s and early 90s. Most of which only produced the parts for a short period, then stopped. Things like cloth fold up t-tops. Limited production...and hard to find if even possible.
If its not custom, it was made by a company that probably put out a short run at one time or another. If it was custom..that a heck of a lot of work especially if its made light enough to still open like a hatch. It could even be part of a body kit. Like the ferrari replica kits or something. Def has a italian sports car look to it. Not the worst looking thing I will say that.

If the wing would have been painted red, it would have looked like a Ferrari. To bad it's left hand drive?

And I know all about the Contempos...because I've owned 2! And in case anyone new is seeing this, this is the car that we are talking about, a Cali import to Europe.

I think that painted black with proper turbocasts and caps as well as typical 82-84 smoked taillights it could look pretty good actually. The wide fender flares could look good too with the proper wheels and body color.
