There's a lot of people who put them on Camaro's. I think it's ugly, but each to his own.

Re: Whats this spoiler called?

Never seen a Camaro other than the 91-92 Z28s with anything like it. There's a lot of people here in Florida taking the Firebird wings and putting them on Camaros.

Re: Whats this spoiler called?

it would be worth it, most of these cars are only missing a few parts, i cant tell you how many hoods iv popped and found a perfectly good engine sitting in the engine bay, every one in awhile ill find one thats missing an engine but the rest is there, they all have their rims and centers, everything is there. and the yards here are cheap

Re: Whats this spoiler called?

It's referred to as the D80 spoiler and came standard on early third gens. Also, it was available as an option throughout the entire production period of the third gen Firebird.

The later D80s came with integrated third brake lights. Note: The third brake light assembly is identical (and thus interchangeable) on the D80 and the Aero wings.

That would be a "junk" spoiler.. yep, thats right.

Honestly though, as others have said, its a firebird spoiler... To each their own.

Re: Whats this spoiler called?

Hey I was just wondering if you can take the spoiler off, or if you have to swap the whole hatch. If they bolt on how can I take it off?

I want to put it on another car, or at least mock it up and see how it would look. I'm pretty sure you have to change the hatch but the cars 2000 miles away so I can't check myself.

You said you bought only the spoiler so maybe it does come off? I know the PO painted my car and he didn't take the spoiler off to paint. Thanks.
EDIT: I have the same spoiler on my TA as the one that was pictured by the OP.

Re: Whats this spoiler called?

The spoiler bolts to the hatch, however be careful as the studs pull out of the spoiler.

Re: Whats this spoiler called?

That is definitely a base bird spoiler, I have one. It's SMC/fiberglass, a corner broke off mine, it's very dense stuff. I don't like them on birds, but I always though the Z's looked good with wings like that.

the spoiler comes off the hatch. there are 4 10mm? bolts that hold it on, two are behind two little black circles that you can see right outside the hatch rear trim, and the other two are under that rear trim panel.

Its a darn nice spoiler, though I like mine better. 92 rs with the high rise spoiler. I was told this ment my car was a heritage edition but I have no clue. My informant on that was my dad, who's a crazy fourth gener.

The high rise has nothing to do with it being a Heritage Edition. The RS's got the typical low spoiler and the Z28s got the High Rise. The Heritage Edition was basically stripes and a color matched grill.

In height and width (side to side)...yes... but the fiero spoiler is much longer front to back.

The actual pedastles unscrew from the spoiler. The fiero market actually sells taller pedestals to let you raise your stocker to various heights for a more aggressive appearance. Kind of an inter sting idea.

I'm dying to slide the stock spoiler on my fiero back... its just too far fwd. I did the same to my birds stock spoiler.... just that slip backwards helps so much.

i had a spare fiero spoiler I was thinking about using if I ever got a notchback decklid... thought that might be cool with a taller pedestal. Here is a pic I found on a bird... just kinda gets lost on a normal decklid at normal height.

The fiero ones I know were plastic... had a cracked one on my fiero when I got it. As was the 88 half year spoiler for the camaro in my earlier pic.

I have had a quite a few of the stock bird spoilers and they were a not plastic... they were a white glass type material... like fiberglass. all 6 or so I have had both with and w/o lights have been this material... its white and powdery like plaster
