Buffer Burn?

I have several areas on my bright red paint that looks to be buffer burn? I am saying that due to several people now mentioning that is what it looks like. What I would like to know what is considered the best process, and product to use. I would like to make this paint shine and last as long as possible. If there is a good post that already addresses this please link and I will delete this. Thanks

Re: Buffer Burn?

Can you post a pic? It might not be buffer burn but actually just paint failure or clear coat failure.

Re: Buffer Burn?

Yes I will do so tommorow when I have some good lighting. The reason why we think it is buffer burn is it looks faded with the same cirular motion a buffer wheel would produce.

Either way I would appreciate some advice on what type of products people like the best for reconditioning and making your paint shine.

Re: Buffer Burn?

My dad scorched my paint when I wasn't looking using buffing wheel. I'm getting my car repainted soon partially because of that. I never used electronic buffers because of the possibility of that happening, but I definitely will never use them because of first hand experience now. You can "hide" it by polishing the living daylights out of it, but you can't get rid of it as far as I know. It'll still be visible, just not as "rough". He burned the top of my car and all in the center of the hood.

Re: Buffer Burn?

I am most certain that is what I am dealing with here...How sad also this car would be so close to flawless on the body if it were not for that! I guess I will do just that and wax and polish the hell out of it. What works best with Bright Red?
