i have a grant california colors formula gt steering wheel with grant quick disconnect hub and install kit. also have a chevy logo grant horn button. 85 for the steering wheel, 130 for the disconnect, 16 for the horn button, and 20 for the install kit. around 250 for everything
I have this steering wheel in mine, paid like 10 bucks for it a a bone yard, but mine is black. http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...1688688#toptab I think its a good look, even has a bowtie in it and is a direct bolt in.
I have the momo champion but I need a hub for it, however my buddy has had the commando in 2 of his birds, a digi dash gta and a 89 formula and it looks killer, I want one so bad
This is an old post but I figured I would throw a pic up of my steering wheel.
It's a Grant GT Rally Part #760. This picture seriously doesn't do it justice. It's a great steering wheel.
It has excellent feel while still looking good. I need to post a pic up of it facing forward (In drivers perspective) It looks even better when your in the drivers seat.
Just a word of warning though; The cheap Grant wheels you see that are in the $60 range are of poor quality. Ask me how I know lol. However Grant's higher line up is quite good, quality wise. This steering wheel is over 8 years old and it still looks brand new! (This is a recent picture, taken within the last 6 months)

I have the 761 which is the same wheel except all black, and I love it. It's not expensive and feels great in your hand. Grant also sells different horn buttons too for more customabilty. I've had mine in for a couple years and it still looks new. The car is my daily driver/autocross car so its not like it doesn't get used.
I don't have pics of it on my computer here at work but I have a Forever Sharp steering wheel - all black w/ black leather 1/2 wrap. Looks like it was made for the car.
Stock IROC wheel is the best. Great looking wheel all by itself, the leather is extremely soft, and it fits the interior better than any aftermarket replacement could.
got every thing from them off ebay.. for cheap.
they even tossed in the horn kit an every thingthe wheel is even the made in Italy wheel not the made in mexico ones

Can you put up any picks of that wheel? I was looking at it, actually right now. I wasn't sure if I would go black or polished. Also how far toward the driver did it push the wheel? I was assuming something like 3"...?
(Couldn't delete, so I posted again with quotes. Sorry.)

I liked the factory wheel that was in my 85 but it was toast. I had an extra 2nd gen wheel and hub so I made a plate to install the 3rd gen horn in the 2nd gen hub. Wheel is old and tired but in better shape than the original. I will eventually replace it with a new 2nd gen wheel.
Fun Thread! Looking at everyone elses has given me some ideas to replace my old stock 91 wheel. Off hand, does anyone know if there is any problems dealing with the Airbag on these models, or just slap the new wheel on and leave the airbag plug unplugged?

Ill put up pics as soon as i can but im right in the middle of switching the interior over to all black (hated the grey)and shes kind of a mess right now. I know this wheel does sit closer to me than stock but not by much. I dont think its anywhere near 3". Hard to say though, this wheel was one of the first things i bought for the car so i wasnt running with the stock wheel long enough to really remember.

Other than the light on the dash i havent had any real issues with the airbag.

No problem, whenever you can. I am probably needing a headliner before the wheel anyway. I am working through my interior and adding some simple polished aluminum. I am really on the fence with this wheel to go with polished version or the black version. The polished might be a little too much for me so I would like to see your black one. I agree, the photos don't look like 3" as the manufacturer states. Maybe with the adapter. Even though, I am 6'5" with my new seats pretty far back, I don't think the wheel moving would hurt me much. Thanks, Dan

I'm interested in seeing more photos of this wheel installed, including how the adapter looks from the side.
