Found some Thirdgen Camaro Toys/Models at antique store
So i went to the antique store yesterday and was browsing through everything, bored out of my mind ( i was with my mom and sister) And then i come across a hotwheels, diecast, and matchbox section filled to the BRIM with cars! Being extraordinarily excited, i begin my desperate search to FINALLY come across a thirdgen trans am. Every store i go to with toy cars,i search each and everyone to hopefully come across one. Ive been doing this every week for a year! So anyways,i go through every single car at the shop, must have been 1200 cars easily. No trans ams. But i did find 3 camaro models. One is a good size 1988 Iroc z ( grabbed cause its an 88 like my trans Am), the others are a small Matchbox 1989 Z-28, and a Hotwheels 1983 Blown Z28. Yeah thats right, its built ;D Sidepipes,4.10's,Got the 50's on the back and everything haha. Im guessin she easily puts out 600 horse! Anyways, heres some pictures

Think its got a B&M shift kit in her? Lol

i have a couple of the one with the blower. except they dont have a blower, ones white with blue and black specs and the other one is teal.
for a second i thought i had a t/a but i remembered it was a 2nd gen. i have never seen a 3rd gen bird that i can think of. although it has been a few years(like 10yrs) since i have been into hotwheels.

Re: Found some Thirdgen Camaro Toys/Models at antique store
The larger one is actually a dealer promo model - they were dealer give-a-ways to promote the car back in the day - there is one for every year Camaro, but I'm unsure if Pontiac ever had them for the 'Birds.
There are a few 'Bird things out there, but they are few compared to the Camaro stuff. Some of us have quite large Camaro collections. There's a thread here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...available.html
You can see some of my collection here: http://s287.photobucket.com/albums/l...Camaro%20Toys/
One of my favs is the Monopoly set - it has a small metal Monopoly play piece that is a 3rd gen Camaro.

Re: Found some Thirdgen Camaro Toys/Models at antique store
Aww, now I have to find mine... I've got a couple unique ones from before I was born (older brothers
)...
There's a red Camaro missing the hatch. It's supposed to look like it got in a crash and the hatch is supposed to sit in place and hold the rear of the car the way it's supposed to be before you crash it into something, when the hatch pops and the rear looks like it hit a tree, lol.
Also have an STP full-out blue and yellow Bird with fender flares (Matchbox, I do think), a black Bird as seen above with the T-tops missing and red interior (flat hood but with a gold hood bird), and a couple of others, including a purple color changing Camaro (when warm, the color fades to white with a skull and crossbones on it).
Also have a slightly larger scale drag Camaro that is actually a pull-and-go racer... You pull it back all the way, and it starts out slow before going all out. Believe it has a carbed engine, (or was that the one the hood doesn't open on? I don't remember). It's white and teal and I believe 76 fuels is one of the major "sponsors" on it. And yes, the pull-and-go still works
.
Also bought a gunmetal and silver GTA off of eBay a couple years ago. I gave most of my Hot Wheels stuff to my nephews but kept the Vettes and the F-bodies I could find. Still find a couple here and there.
:edit: Almost forgot... Not an F-body, but I'll bet you don't see Fieros very often. I have a red one with the American flag on the "hood".

I've also been looking for a Greenlight model of the black GTA. If anyone would be willing to sell, lemme know. All the ones I keep finding online are like permanently outta stock.

Re: Found some Thirdgen Camaro Toys/Models at antique store
I also have some of the hotwheels Camaros. Most of them picked up from flea markets for $0.50 or less, and in bad shape. Picked them up just for the fun of it though.
Finding the following models took me a few months.
1:64 Johnny Lightning (very small)

1:43 Solido

1:24 (Action historical series)

and another 1:24 Action model

1:24 JADA toys

1:18 Greenlight

I really wish they'd make a 3rd gen Camaro
1:18 Sunstar

Re: Found some Thirdgen Camaro Toys/Models at antique store
I got it from a diecast reseller in Germany.
(this one: http://www.modellauto18.de/)
Paid close to $70 for it.
Even if I would sell it, you don't want to pay shipping, trust me.
I think they were limited to somewhere around 1500 units made.
They only have the TTA and the red GTA at the moment.
Prices still at $70 each.
With shipping to the US that would make somewhere around $130.

Re: Found some Thirdgen Camaro Toys/Models at antique store
Greenlight is making so many issues of the firebird, its hard to keep up
http://firebirdtoys.com/FirebirdToys...greenlight.htm
They have some more GTA 1/18 coming out soon
http://firebirdtoys.com/FirebirdToys...ewreleases.htm
I update the site weekly, but I only collect the firebirds
I can also buy many new released by the case, I have a resale permit
if there is enough interest on buying the new cars, like the greenlights

you can pick the tta up pretty commonly on ebay and amazon for around 40-50 plus shipping, the others get put up from time to time for usually not a whole lot more but depends on the seller, i paid $30 for mine from toysrus a while back.
