1. Jack up the rear.

2. Remove rears wheels.

3. spray with de-greaser and scrub then rinse and let dry.

4. Tape off the inside edge of fender lip and i usually tape the outside of the quarter panel too incase of some paint dust. Tape off any suspension parts you dont want painted too.

5. Paint away.......i used rubber undercoating and as it got tacky went over it with some cheap wal-mart 99cent black paint. You could just use paint thought.

I basically used this same method, except in step 3 I just washed with water and did not de-grease, or scrub. I guess it depends on how nasty the wheel wells are. Worth the end result for sure!

Re: painting wheel wells?

Go to an auto body supply house. Ask for 3m body shuts, It will fill any cracking that has formed over the years, and looks just like factory. Other wise rubberized under coating.

That stuff sounds good, but also requires an air compressor & spray gun to use, unless someone wanted to try brushing it on which I have no idea how that stuff would worth with being brushed on. Know of any good aerosol undercoating?

Well, yeah it has to be sprayed on, It looks exactly like the factory stuff, and is what i used with any collision repair. If your in the need of something with its own propellant I suggest the 3m rubberized undercoating as suggested earlier. It works really well, but drys to a brown/black color.
