My idea for my custom paint job next year
I have a friend that lives in Kansas that does amazing paint and body work, and he's going to be painting my convertible next year. I just have to save up a little more money.
I got my idea for my paint job from his car actually. He painted a brushed/stainless steel looking Chevy bowtie on the side of his car by spraying black, then silver, and running a brush through the silver to streak it. I'm going to have him paint 25th anniversary stripes over the top of my car with this texture, with a solid black border.
The big difference here for my 25th anniversary stripes, is that I'm probably going to have an SS hood, so we will be using the layout of the 30th anniversary SS, except the stripes will not continue onto the front bumper. They will start on the hood like a 25th, but curve onto the SS scoop like a 30th.
Here's the texture of the stripes (will have a solid black border). I'm going to have him make them look 3D like his bowtie, see the edges of his bowtie to see what I'm talking about.

Nick I love Landons paint work. I'm jealous he is gonna paint your car. I think that those are gonna look great. I would do a mix of Heritage stripe on that SS hood. I'm not sure I would try and "float" the stripes, but maybe try bury them so it looks like the stripes peeled off exsposing the "bare metal" look?
The pics of his paint do it no justice, compared to in person... Its gonna look amazing!

Have you seen his car in person? The paint is phenomenal!
My dad is taking my steel stripe idea for his purple haze 92 z28 convertible. We are trailering it to Landons house on Saturday actually, so his will be done in a month or so, and I'll have to drool over his paint until I get the money to do mine haha

Bluezee, I've always been a fan of your car and always thought it is a great looking car. I finally get mine painted and my Z06 wheels on and think "Hey I'm up there with everybody else" and leave it to you to blow us all out of the water. I'm sure you'll set the bar even higher for the rest of us. Ensure you post up pics for us little pee-ons.

Kinda sucks dad is getting his done first... but at the same time, if there is something you don't like about his you can make sure to fine tune that with Landon.

Haha thanks man

I'll have pictures to post up of my dad's convertible in a month or so. his will be done in probably 3-4 weeks.
Yeah I have. He came up here to CO for Super Chevy show a couple years back and we hung out all weekend. He is a super cool guy. I always threatened him I would drag all my s*** out there for him to paint on my "vacation" LOL!

We're headed to Landon's wedding this weekend, so we figured we'd kill two birds with one stone and trailer the purple convertible over there for some fresh paint. It would be nice if I could come up with the money that I'm missing from my budget in the month's time it takes him to paint my dad's car, so I could take mine to him when we pick his up. I doubt it though.

I loved that brushed steel look. You might have to change up the wheels to something with a nice fat brushed lip on them.. Just saying
