March billet brackets
March billet brackets
I dont know if this belongs here or not but here we go. I am curious if anyone else on the board has ever thought about changing out the stock AC and Alternator brackets. I was looking at the march brackets. They look great and I want something different. In case you guys are thinking I am just wasting money for one its a show car and I am running out of engine mods. If anyone can help me I appreciate it greatly, and when I do this I will be selling a set of Jet Hot coated stock brackets to offset the cost.

Actually, I'm looking for around the same. I hadn't heard of the ones your talking about. I was planning to take all the brackets and either chrome them, polish them, or jet coat them.

I talked to Hot rod Usa and Street and Performance and I got the feeling that I will need to change to the older style air conditioning compressor which I dont want to do but will the biggest problem I have is which march set I need to buy cause by looking on the internet and talking to the different shops i am still a little confused which one to use. One option would be to go to a Lt-1 kit with the Lt-1 water pump, but I dont think that is necessary. (This is the problem with going to far) Well thanks if anyone can help me

LT1 pump is cam driven, I called summit the other day for the march kit for LT1..... the alternator and p/s kit only, no a/c, just brackets bolts and pullies.... $650
Does that mean if its cam driven you will have to use the Lt-1 timing chain cover. but it just might be easier either way to just go with the street rod package and just change the AC unit. Or go get my stock brackets chromed instead of just Jet Hot coated. When I called around it seems like it gona cost like 1500 for the brackets not including the new compressor and lines. Not a smart spend when I can spend that in NOS kit or something.....Decisions Decisions

Sallee Chevrolet was about $80 cheaper then Summit Racing for a entire serpentine pulley and bracket set that I bought for my big block. I'm sure you would get a proportional rate for the stuff you're interested in.

You're not going to get the LT1 brackets to work without a LOT of fabbing, forget it, look at the other march kits, personally if I was you get the stock stuff powdercoated or polished and put your money towards a blower..........

How'd you come up with 1500$?
I talked to the chrome place that does... I can't spell his name. The Dark blue with black stripes show car. Most brackets only run 35-50$ a piece.

The march setups are billet aluminum and polished, they have special rod end type tensioner adjusters all pullies and bolts.
z28racer is right I think we might be talking about seperate brackets now. But I checked a couple different sources and for the full Street rod package for Passenger side AC and keep power steering so far its about 1500 some with the Ac some without. Yeah and as someone said earlier 1500 could go to making my car a little faster. So I think I am gona try to find someone that will trade me with a little money my Jet Coated stock brackets for some plain ones so I go have them polished and chrome dipped. Way cheaper and could look really good also. Plus I need keep the stock brackets in case I want to Supercharge. I still wish I could see someone with it done to see if it would be worth it.

I have seen Zoops web but I was also told that the quality of there products were horrible and when you compare them side by side against the march sets that they dont look that good. But if you have seen them first hand and they dont look bad then I would be more than happy to hear your opinion on them. Thanks
