If its between an SS hood and a 3" cowl, I'd get the SS. But thats cause I don't like big cowls. I like 2"-2.5" or so cowls. But get what you want, its your car and you should be happy with it.

Take a look at my page (link in sig). My own personal opinion is that hte cowl hood just looks smoother. It gives the body lines some more great character. The air flow is definatley an advantage too!!

I was shocked to see that companies sold a taillight
set for a rustang! Since when do they have taillights????

Big toss up...

I havent seen the SS hoods in person,
but I love the 2-21/2 in cowl hoods. See if you can find pics of Chuck Everly's old RS.
That was pure art.

I personally like the cowl hoods no matter what the size. I have a 4" Glasstek cowl on mine and love it.

I have a 5in cowl on my camaro and i love the way it looks. Driveability is a big factor though. Sometimes i have trouble seeing around it and i'm 6-2. On my 89 i have a 2 1/2 and it looks like a sleeper. It hard to get races around here with my 5 in cowl. lol

I like the SS. Tall cowl looks good if car has big tires, large spoiler etc. Looks out of place on some cars. Check the law. Some states limit cowl height on street cars. Obstructed vision.

3 inch is not to big of a cowl as long as you have the power to show for it. How many of these cowls do you see every day. Do something that looks good to you. the ss hood will be a good idea but if your cranking some power out get the cowl.
