Pm one of the admins and ask, quite possibly this is off topic a d was locked for that reason, but restarting a locked thread is a no no, doing it twice is ban territory. Just a heads up

Re: What would it take to part with your beloved third gen and post a pic
my car is worth 5x more to me than what it is worth. The only thing that can part it from me is it getting totalled. And id buy it back take off all the parts that were still good and then send it to the crusher and hope to find another Camaro.

Re: What would it take to part with your beloved third gen and post a pic
I'll be honest I don't think I could sell it even if someone offered me a lot more than its worth even to me. It would take an accident resulting in a total loss to give it up, and as mentioned above, I'd buy it back and use all the goodies to build something even nicer, pocketing some money in the process.

I'd sell my soul before selling my car. And if I had a family and house, I'd sell them first.
No but seriously, I don't think theres a price I could put on my car.

A) I don't know why this topic should be banned; I think it could be great conversation.
B) The only way I would part with mine is if it were wrapped around a tree.

Nice comments guys. I would sell mine for 12000 only because I could really use the money right now but not a penny less and it would be real painful doing it but I don't think anyone will give me 12000 so I'm safe lol

My first reaction upon reading the topic was............Death, then I thought to myself.......okay let me be realistic, now if I had no job, lost all my money, had no where to live, my baby is malnutritioned, I look like the walking dead because I haven't eaten in over a month.. then yeah maybe...I guess, BUT it all be a damn hard one.
OKAY....OKAY, like if someone offerd me 50g's for my car, YEAH like I wouldn't take it an run like chicken without a head.
Maybe?
Still be dang hard!

I put my car up for sale almost a year after I got it to pay off some loans. Had a few bites. A week later I had her interior stripped out and she now sits in my shed getting a LS1/T56 rebuild. I guess I'm paying myself to keep her.

I wouldn't sell it. It has sentimental memories, monetary value beyond blue book, a reliable and permanent parking spot, i know the history of it.(garage kept its whole life) I am going to be buried in this car.

Divorce- oh, wait a minute, she divorced me already because I bought a 3rd gen and I STILL kept the car! So I named it after my ex wife and then the b$&@h caught fire and tried to burn me to death! True story. Then, my ex turned up to give me a ride home as I am standing by the burned out wreck- and she actually had a smirk on her face. So I went out and bought ANOTHER 1991 Z28! I will never NOT have a 3rd gen...

About tree fiddy
If wrecked, it'd have to be bad enough that a frame machine couldn't fix it or if the repairs cost more than the cost of a new cage, paint, etc, on my spare chassis.
Selling outright, a lot more than I'd realistically get for it. These cars have a tough time selling anywhere near $10k. As much as I love it, if some one offered me $15k, I'd have a hard time saying no. Then I'd get to build one without all the 'mistakes' I've learned the hard way plus all the goodies I havn't been able to afford to put on.

Pulled this out of some guys back yard for $ 500.00. It is my first attempt at fixing a car busted up as bad as it was. Even though I love my car and tell my self I will never part with it, there are things I would do differently. If I new that it was going to a “good” home and he “loves” Camaros as much as me, Id take 50 thousand.

Only a wreck. I've had my 84 since 1997, and I'm only 32 years old.
It doesn't really "cost" me much to own other than what I choose to spend, and it gives me a nice break from work as a hobby car. In other words, I get more fun out of my Camaro than the time and money it costs to keep it.

Not going to post a pic ATM since I am about to start the bodywork tomorrow and right now it looks like absolute shizz, but the only thing that would cause me to part with my thirdgen is a total loss accident.
And I don't mean insurance company total loss, I mean frame smashed up beyond repair no coming back loss.
Countless hours spent wrenching this, spraying that and working in the rain/sub freezing temps not to mention all the memories your car has brought you; can't put a price on that.

You would have to pry the keys from my cold dead hands.
Eh, I'd probably realistically take 30k for it. Then go out and buy a TTA. But nobody is crazy enough to do that, so I'm safe.

Hard to put a price on mine since it is almost ready to run again but cash money talks. If I had bought it new would be a little harder to let go but it just a car to me. It would be harder to let go of my '00 Z71 which was the first vehicle I bought.

Re: What would it take to part with your beloved third gen and post a pic
I have never seriously thought about selling my 84 but it has crossed my mind a few times. I love having a show quality fast n/a street car and its a blast to drive because of that. The same things that make it fun to drive can also make it a PIA... 5mpg, exhaust fumes, no ac, no heat, no power steering, loud exhaust. Try backing up with one hand on the steering wheel with no ps and the other hand on the transbrake button..not easy lol.
The way my local track runs things its getting more and more difficult to drive a car to the track making it almost not worth it unless you invest in a truck and trailer. For example, the track has 8 gates but they only used 1 gate for the LSX event last year for spectators, racers and show cars resulting in a 3.5 hour wait to get in the gate the first day(not fun in a race car). The 2nd day was slightly better at about 1 hour but its getting rediculous. Its easier to just have a street car or an all out race car..its hard doing both. At this point I don't want to invest in a trailer and have to pay to store it somewhere. I have debated if its worth the time and money having a car like this to only race a few times a year and go to a few local cruise-ins/car shows. If someone offered me around 20-25k I would think about it but I also know I would miss the car.
I bought the 91 Z28 to have something easier to drive. I plan on a mild LS swap and show quality paint to have another car that is easy to drive. If I sold the 84 I would put the money towards making the 91 what I want it to be.

This would be the absolute only thing:
I'd prefer to have it alongside the thirdgen anyway since the thirdgen is a pittance of the value of a Charger so selling it wouldn't get me very far anyway in terms of the price a #1 or #2 condition '68 R/T goes for.

Mine's not for sale, but everything I own is for sale if the price is right... and for my beloved thirdgen, that price is $25k.
1991 B4C LB9 T5, fully documented including bill of sale, window sticker, GMPP warranty, B4C Brochure, 1991 Camaro Brochure, and email correspondence with dealership that ordered it for inventory. 19k miles, low-option car and fast for a factory thirdgen, smells new inside, original tires in the attic. Any takers? Probably not

I'll think about it... that base interior though is worth at least 25 "horsepower" because of all the weight savings... crank windows, no hatch release, radio delete, manual seats and the base buckets have a bit more lateral support in them for all those high-G maneuvers... because of this you're $50 shy of a fair price.

I'm probably going to get some crap for saying this, but I don't think I would give mine up unless I could get a 60's wagon or my 1968 Chevy Impala Coupe back. But my 91 RS is kind of a pig at the moment so neither of those things would happen.

Well I guess $810 is fair. Paypal?
In all seriousness, I see people posting trades... and that's always fun. I'd trade for a built thirdgen. LSx or tastefully built L98, T56, polo green, deep tan leather interior (think Ferrari tan), CCW Classics or Fikse FM10 in high polish, lowered stance w/ built suspension, Brembos with silver calipers, 91-92 GFX (but with RS spoiler), 90-92 interior. And that dash pad better be cherry. Who has it? Or do I have to build this restomod myself?
