Camaro GTS Blackouts question....
Hey folks, I have been combing the threads and really have not found the answer to my question, so here we go.
I am awaiting a pair of blackout covers to arrive in the mail from an order placed on here from a fellow member. My question is about installing the tail covers with screws. I know to put two screws nearest the license plate and one in the outer corner. What do y'all do to seal them to the existing taillight to keep water/dust out? I have read the velcro strips are not the best way of installing, so those of you who have these installed, please chime in and tell me how you did your covers.

One of th complaints I have read about with using velcro is that when the tails are illuminated, you can see the velcro strips...

Using screws to secure a cheap piece of tinted plastic to an OEM tail light is hoosier and trashy in my opinion. Either use some sort of 3M adhesive or do it the right way and have the stock tail lights professionally tinted.

Re: Camaro GTS Blackouts question....
I had these for awhile but it was a pita to clean the car and i had to keep putting new tape on after cleaning and they never went back on but i never had it fall off.
Just use good double sided tape. They make clear stuff too and put it on the black part

you shouldnt have a problem. they slide under the tail light and between the hatch lid. i can remember mine bieng in so good i had to unbolt the taillight to get some play so i didnt crack the plastic. i never used that velcro or screws. trust me it will stay put and water will not get back there

I have these on my car and I used the velcro they sent me. I wouldn't use screws as I agree, they look really trashy and cheaply put together. Plus you'd always have the holes in the taillights. About them illuminating when you hit the brakes or its dark, they do illuminate. However, I don't have to see it when I drive so it doesn't bother me a bit. This is how they look w/velcro, very clean
