Exhaust Tips

Stupid thread, but I need the opinion of other muscle car lovers and not my semi-***** friends. Which would look better on a 92 Camaro: 3" tips or 3.5"?

Re: Exhaust Tips

These are cut 3in. Flowmasters. Personally I like the 3in. but there is very little difference in the two sizes so if these are not large enough go with the 3 1/2.
Here's a thread you might find interesting. There are several that list tip sizes.= https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/exha...exhaust-2.html

Re: Exhaust Tips

I think the size is less of the question as what style. You will barely notice the half inch difference but you'll really be able to see what kind of pipe you think looks the best.

Re: Exhaust Tips

Another question: Would it look best lined up even with the rear bumper, or protruding slightly? And slant cut or straight?

I say flush + 1in. in with the bumper cover and rolled with a straight cut.. Not only do I think it looks nicer but "IMO" if there "not" rolled tips they can be dangerous sticking out (especially with the non rolled, "angled tips") I know because mine use to stick out .

Re: Exhaust Tips

I prefer the non rolled and slant cut, let the tips stick out an inch or so. Ronusmc does have a valid point though my tips are like razor sharp, they'll cut you pretty good if your cleaning them and not paying attention, I found out the hard way.

I'd go with something like what freaky posted, thats what I have on mine and I love the look.

Re: Exhaust Tips

Those do look pretty sick on your car. My only issue with them is that they never come long enough and I didn't want them to look bolt on or anything. Don't get me wrong they are cool I just prefer a longer tip.

I like the look with no tips showing but if you need them, the hooker dual/dual tips look pretty good.

These are Hooker and welded on. I had the stock tip cut back to how you see now. if they were put on at the end of the stock tip to the begining of the stock slash cut they would stick out a lot more and also they would tilt downward. I wanted them more reserved looking but straight out. More like ferrari or lambo style!

These 3.5" magnaflow tips looked OK on my GTA but I didn't love them. I'm running a tucked 3.5" cat back now with a totally hidden tip.
