Removing Spoiler?

If I remove the spoiler on my 92 z28, will there be any holes? Might be a stupid question but I only see two screws off to the side of the deck lid. Are those it and the rest is adhesive, or is my only hope buying a new back hatch?

Re: Removing Spoiler?

there are others besides the end ones . raise decklid/hatch , look at underside , remove plastic cover , see black rubber plugs , remove plugs (they just pry out with a flat screwdriver) . they will expose the other fasteners . good luck .

Re: Removing Spoiler?

yeah but the spoiler is original to your car, and 91-92 z28s are rare which makes your car valuable so i would leave it, but i know what you mean...i put the spoiler on my car and i got sick of it but my camaros a base model...just saying, dont ruin a real z28

Re: Removing Spoiler?

Why do you want to take off the spoiler? That spoiler, the hood blisters, and the side scoops on the ground effects are part of the 91-92 Z28 look.
If you take the spoiler off its just going to look like a 91-92 RS with fog lights and hood blisters.

Like others have mentioned there were not a lot of 91-92 Z28's made in the first place. Now that its been 20 years since production has stopped there are fewer cars around. Keep your car in good shape. A '92 Z28 with the L98 was the top of the line in terms of performance for 3rd gen Camaros.

Re: Removing Spoiler?

It is YOU car, not theirs. So don't listen to them. Do what you want to your car.

But yes, there will be hole in the hatch so you will have to weld the holes shut & repaint. Or trade to a guy with no spoiler who wants your spoiler. Then you might only be left with painting.

BTW....The Camaro & Firebirds hatches are interchangeable, so you don't hafta find JUST a Camaro hatch to do the swap.

Re: Removing Spoiler?

My question was mostly a "What If?" sort of thing, in case I ever felt like it. I was debating it but i will probably keep it on. I did not know the hatches were interchangeable. Thats a nice piece of information.

Re: Removing Spoiler?

the only differences will be like 86-only external 3rd brake light, defroster lines or no defroster lines & their different wiring for the 3rd brake lights/defrosters & different holes for different rear wings & spoilers.

But PHYSICALLY? They all interchange.
