Have owned this car almost 2 years; it has low mileage-30k-but the paint was less than desirable. Pretty much a 10 footer. Wanted to take it to the next level, and give it the resto it deserved. It went to the paint shop in February-the engine block was not removed, but a lot of things were unbolted and the bay was painted as best as possible.
Had several conversations with Dennis Mecham , and from the info gathered, tried to restore to as much as stock original as possible. The interior plastics were painted, new carpet in the passenger area, and all new seals and emblems were installed. The git kit is still unistalled and I have it mostly in the original packaging. The car came out really well, my painter did an excellent job and worked with me on all the details to get it back to its early 80's glory.
Here are a few pictures of it in the shop.

The spoiler needed extensive work-it was warped and rubbed on the rear quarter panel.

The blue and red striping was painted on, instead of using the orig 3-M tape.

These were taken just a few days ago-its almost finished-just a few minor details to address.

Very sweet car man, something you don't see everyday. Good job on the restore.

Thanks to all for the compliments. The car is pretty much original-the Motorola head unit is long gone, but I have the operator's manual for it. Also the orig window sticker, build sheet and a few other documents. Here's a few more pictures.

Kymmee, can't say how awesome your mse is enough times. Getting ready to start mine. How much did the body work cost you (not to be overly nosy) and do you have any extra mse parts or memorabilia you'd sell?
