Just a couple more pics of the Hugger Orange Z's progress

this pic is for the day we brought it home:

this pic is from 5 minutes ago when we finished wet sanding. all that left to so now is buff and reassemble

I have a couple more pics of little stuff I've done, like how i chopped my Hurst Billet plus shifter about an inch, and how i installed a grab handle (otherwise known as an oh sh*t! handle) on the pass. side etc, but the batteries in my digital camera just died so your out of luck for now.

Looks more red in the second pic, is it just the pic or does it look more reddish in person after you sanded it also? You need the Dukes of Hazard horn now

the front end is gonna have the black headlight buckets (for some reason i just can't stand them body color) and i have a black Iroc grill thats going in too. The color most likely looks different becuase of the lighting. The first pic was taken in the middle of the day, but the second pic was late afternoon on an overcast day.

Man that is one sweet looking car. I think some chrome 17x8 IROC wheels would make that color stand out. Throw some 275/40s on there and BAM...you got yourself a bad *** car.

wruth,

It was really simple actually. I just unbolted the top potion of it and drilled a third hole above the top one, then mounted the handle again, this time using the top two bolts. Took me a total of 5 minutes and it's a night and day difference. I'll take pics as soon as the batteries are charged in the camera.

Metkiss,
In the way of saving money, i've decided to go with stock 85-87 IROC wheels. I am gonna polish them though. Then im putting 245/50's up front and either 255, or 265's if i can find them for the back.

Sounds sweet. But with some 16x8 wheels, you should easily be able to put some 275s on the back if you want.

If not, some 265s and 245s would be great. Whatever floats your boat, because that is one mean ride. Make sure you show pictures. how much was the paint?

If i were you (just giving my opinion, hope it's wanted I would get some 16x8 IROC rims and either polish them yourself (if you're on a tight budget) or get a shop to polish them. then I'd get some 245/50/16's for front and maybe some 255/50/16's out back... the sidewalls are almost identical...
other than that your car is clean

Metkiss,
my father and i did it ourselves so we saved a considerably amount of money. total cost including all rental fees of paint booth, tow dolly and a new gun was somewhere around 700 bucks.

as for the tires i would like to go wider but the only tire i can find in those sizes is the COmp T/a, and i hate those things. Im going with kumho's unless CarnDrvr still has some F1's for sale.

Garett,
I fully intend on polishing them, but it's probably not gonna happen until this spring.

the shifter's made by hurst, and its good for shifting the transmission j/k, Stock vs. the hurst, the hurst is a shorter throw, has adjustable stops on the gears and just feels more precise overall. I love it.

Welp, being as i couldn't do anymore reassembly (the bumpers don't get painted until this Sat.) and i was still bored and wanted to work on the car, i decided to mount a couple of neons i found in my sisters old car junk box under the car. I just finished doing one side and it doesn't look all too bad. I doubt i would have actually paid for them, but since they were free i figured why not? Its a nice little touch i think. I'll get pics after i mount the other side.
