firebird -> trans-am

Is it possible to fit a '89 firebird with trans-am ground-effects? Are they possible to remove from a trashed trans-am? Or should I try and get them from GM? I Live in Finland and the parts are hard to get. The mask of a trans-am costs about $300 around here... I'm just a newbie here and need advice. I could post pic's of it in the middle of the Beautifull finnish winter.

Yes, it is possible to put ground effects on a car not so equipped. You will need these parts to do it:

1.)Front bumper cover
2.)Rear bumper cover
3.)Rocker panel skirts
4.)Lower door Skirts
5.)Front fender lower skirts
6.)Rear fender lower skirts

I am currently collecting these pieces from junk yeads, I have all including the 85-90 wraparound spoiler, and I havent even paid $300 total. But they all need paint and a little scratch filler. It has taken me a little under a year to get all of these parts

BTW, you can swap body parts from any 82-92 firebird. I am going to put 85-90 style ground effects and spoiler on my 83. I already have 87 GTA tail lights, they bolted right in.

Check out this page, they sell fibergass stock style ground effects, but they come down lower than stock, I think it looks sweet

Welcome to the Boards

Definitely possible. I'm not the best person for the details though. Doing a search of the "Body and Interior" board would help greatly. This topic has come up many times, and there is plenty of info in the archives.

If you're still having trouble finding info, no harm in asking more questions in this or another post, but prolly best to repost in "Body and Interior"

I hope that helps a bit

{EDIT} Looks like Ward and me hit the reply button at the same time And he took care of most of your concerns

They sell the whole conversion to make it look like an 1985-1990 Trans Am for $525.

You didn't say which year Trans Am you wanted to convert to, so I'll post your choices (any excuse to post my work)

And when you are done with that, change your tail lights....

The only part of the pictures that aren't right, are the base model taillights, from 90 or 91 up the center section changed to a red turkey and pontiac logo.
