Do you get any rubbing with wheels that wide? I was thinking about 17x11 rears. Think they'd fit ok or will I be rolling the lip and pounding on the inner fender?

Tas,
The only rubbing I get is up front while backing out of parking spaced etc at full turn - but that was the same thing with the stock 16"s wheels. There is no rubbing at all on the rear.
I see 'quite a few' people are using 17x11 rears, and I *believe* rolling the lip is a pretty common mod along with it LOL. Personally I didn't want 11's on the back as they are a tad too much when seeing the car from behind, for my liking. But that is just my personal preference - lots of nice looking cars out there with 11's. Maybe some of the guys with that size will chip in on whats needed to make them fit.

Unless you like the sleeper look, I would suggest getting some chrome exhaust tips. That's the one thing your car is missing, in my opinion.

lanyabuddy,
http://www.americansportscar.com is who produce them.
And I know some of the other vendors sell them too.
Mark,

Here is a NASTY pic of them from last night, where they were very dirty. It doesn't do them justice at all, but anyway:

Im sorry, I haven't had time to even go outside today, and even less to go wash of the car etc. We are supposed to get some real nice and mild days this week, I might even be able to take some top down pics.
I'll post them as soon as I take them.
SMURFN'Z28,
the car is an '86 - but it was not converted by ASC. This particular car was done by Choo Choo Customs with the same parts that was used for the 87's from ASC.
camaro6spd, I don't know what it would cost to get it done, as this one was done while it was new - and sold as a 'vert from the dealership. The most difficult part now would be to find all the parts needed for the conversion. I think you would be way better off buying even a trashed out one and moving over whatever you could from your IROC.

So, that will be a future project. Or, actually, a PART of THE future project with the car. I have some nice plans for the car, but it all boils down to time, $$$ and a place to do it. And I have none of those right now...LOL.
