Throttle body cleaning/polishing?

So I am gonna take the tpi setup off the car a glass blast it. I Want the thing to look clean and hopefully like it did when it left the factory. So the runners and upper plenum are gonna look good but what do I do about the throttle body. Is there a simple way to clean it. I would assume if I were to try and glass blast it I would need to strip it down to nothing ,blast and clean all residuals off. Then rebuild it. Not really what I think of as fun, but probably a lot easier than a carb rebuild. But is there a simple way. I would assume no because I see way to many pics of beautiful engine bays with grungy throttle bodies. Any ideas?

Re: Throttle body cleaning/polishing?

remove everything from it: iac, tps, clean air cover. if the clean air cover's gasket will come off cleanly, save that. or else you'll need a new one or RTV later. leave the unit in aluminum safe cleaner - you dont want to get pits in the aluminum. now all the passages will be clean. You can polish the outside with a buffing wheel and liquid aluminum polish. Mine turned out great. the original color of the clean air cover was a sort of dark camouflage greenish gray. the letters were left natural.
