Thirdgen Look ..Classic or not yet ?
Almost ten years from the last Thirdgen and to me it still looks like a car of this decade, even newer.
My questions is if Thirdgens are considered classics. I think they are not classics yet,I love the Thirdgen timeless design(i mean they dont belong to an era like 2nd gens belong to the 70s). it has no age....i would love to hear the thoughts of the people when 3rdgens appeared ..They liked the transition from 2nd Gens to 3rd gens ?
I like to know the opinion from the people, the magazines, the press ...
Post your thoughts and if you have press or anything please post Thanks ¡

I believe a car has to be 20-25 years old before it can be considered a classic. Or at least you could get historic tags, I think a car has to meet certain requirements to be labeled a classic. I mean you wouldn't label a Pinto as a classic if it were old enough.

IMHO, when the thirdgen came out it was way ahead of the time. Go back to the early 80's and look at the cars that were in the same time as the early thirdgen.they all look like a box on wheels. Thirdgens have very nice body lines that flow down the sid eof the car. I also think that thirdgen camaros still look better than 4thgen camaros. I cant say the same about the TA, just because the ramair ta's are bada$$. I wouldnt consider a thirdgen a classic for a long time, just because of how many of them are still out there in great condition. To me a classic is more like a car where on ly 10,000 or less even exist anymore.
As far as the transition from 2nd to 3rdgen. i was born in 81, i didnt think too much of anything when they switched over

I remember we thought they looked like spaceships, very cool. But at the time GM also said they were dropping the 350 forever.
So I ran out and bought a 81 Z28 with a 350. It served me well and was a great car too.

They won't be "classic" until about 2012 or so, 10 years after they stop making F-Bod's all together. Then it might be classic, in my opinion anyway.

For those of you who are over 26 you can get collectors tags. It can be ANY year, but there are some rules. Garaged, >3K a year, and i think something else. You can get do this for a '02 F-bod if you want
I am not sure if its for all states, i know NJ offeres it. By doing this, all the money you save from insurence can go towards mods
