1985 Irocz L69 H.O. My new find. Opinions?

I just bought this 1985 irocz. I bought it for no good reason except it was solid, has the cool contuer seats, and a 5 speed. I realized it was a H.O car. but didnt think much considering my 84 is an original H.O car and that's nothing special, forgetting the Iroc's L69's are kind of rare with under 2,500 in 1985. The car is also loaded. It doesn't have the RPO codes anymore. But the 8th digit is a G telling me its a L69. Obviously is needs paint but im not sure what im doing with it yet. Its also completely original except the rims are incorrect as they were stolen back in 1992 and these are what they got replaced with.

The car has the Contuer seats (power) power locks, power windows, power mirrors, hatch release, split folding seats, rear wiper, rear hatch shade, t tops, over head counsel, cruise, 4 wheel disc, 3,73 rear. It has the most options iv seen on a 1985 in a while, especially an L69.

Tell me what you think.

Great find! Love the color. Looks solid and intact. New paint and some elbow grease and it would be an awesome ride. The RPO CODE sticker is not in the console glove box anymore?

Is a nice find! Wasn't there a build sheet under one of the back seats??? Bummer the snork tubes are missing...

What motor's in that old challenger?

No build sheet under the seats unfortunately, I looked. I know the tubes are kind of hard to find! The Challenger has a 340.

Thanks. Unfortunately I dont have the time to restore this car, my 84 still isnt done and I have a 4th gen. I love the Blue but I already got 2 blue camaros. lol I might repaint the rear quarters and roof and drive it. The car runs and drives great.

L69 5-spd is a great combo. The fact that you have an '85 with the L69 is even better. That car doesn't need much ... just some TLC. Congrats on you find!

great car, Lear seats, 5 spd, rear wiper and an IROC? Pretty cool - Wronf wheels but easy to change.
You are going to have some work to do, better sell off the 70 Challenger R/T to me so you can devote the time to the 85

Very nice find .... That's the first time I have seen a rear wiper and Ive been here for quite a while. I'm sure it works well but IMO is a eye sore. destroys the flow of the car and looks out of place. I would shave it off along with the antenna at paint time. Just me,that's what I would do.

Re: 1985 Irocz L69 H.O. My new find. Opinions?

Im a hot rodder at heart, but given the rarity of this particular Iroc and its great foundation, I would restore it all by the book, keep it completely factory original and just enjoy owing it or looking at it. The blue Irocs are just freakin gorgeous. Is this the right blue for 1985 though? I didnt think bright blue metallic was offered until 1986? Maybe its the lighting in the pic throwing me off.

I thought this was the metallic blue shade for 85 which is a bit lighter.

Great find!!!

Thanks. It is a very cool car. I think I'm going to just paint the rear quarters and deck lid.

Thanks. The wheel were put on there back in 1992 when the originals were stolen. I have some 85 irocs for it. The challenger isn't going anywhere!

It is ugly. But cause of the rarity and I'm tryin to keep it original. My 84 had I also. And it was the first thing to go! Lol.

I agree. My 84 looks like a original 85 iroc. But has a 383 stroker and is modified decently. But I would leave this car alone. It is the same color as the pic you posted. It does look alot darker like the 86-up color.

This is the second IROC I've seen with the rear wiper. I wanted to add one or at least collect all the correct parts to possibly add one maybe down the road.
