How to daily and quickly clean a car?...

I wash my car with Meguiar's Gold Class (Yes, it class not glass, read the label yourself). Also Meguiar's Wheel cleaner and a tire shiner. I washed it a couple days ago, but unforntunately my car gets covered with a sandy type dust, from trees or whatever. Its a light film of debris. Since my car is black you can notice it very well, and it doesn't shine as well, as it does when clean (of course).

What's a good way to clean off this stuff, without having to get the car wet again? So far I've taken a 100% cotton rag to buff it off, looks good afterwards too. But isn't buffing off dirty type stuff gonna scratch my paint? How can I keep my car clean, without washing it every day?

The ways I know of.

First, buy some zaino. It reduced the amounth that seems to collect on my car greatly. Plus the Z7 is made to do exactly what your talking about.

Second, the california duster. It's supposed to work. Lastly, the mist clear type stuff such as meguiars and such. Can use those every day.

Those are the best ways I know of.

Yep, get the California duster, works great. Especially up here at college when my car sits and collects dirt. 2 mins and the car looks good. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart.

Congrats on the car, I just recently got my black 89 IROC Z as well. Any pics of yours?

Anyway, I would recommend the California Car Duster. Its like $10.00 at Wal-Mart and worth it. Good luck and enjoy the 'ROC.

The California Car Duster is okay for just dusting the car off real quick. I give it a 5 on a scale of 10. It leaves waxy streaks on the car, especially if the paint is at all warm. If I just washed the car the day before, I'll use it. If it's been more than a few days, I'd just wash the car again. They say the duster won't scratch the car, and they're right. It won't. But that's not saying dragging a heavy layer of dirt around on top of the paint won't scratch it.

JZA, did you try removing the wax by letting it sit on a newspaper for a few days?

IROCZTWENTYGR8, did you try any of those methods?

So using just a 100% cotton rag on the car... is that bad?

"IROCZTWENTYGR8, did you try any of those methods?" Which??

I have the Quick Detailer and its good, but I wouldn't want to clean the ENTIRE car with it when it gets like that.

Just plan on washing that Black car twice a week. I do Mondays and Friday's, religiously. California duster in between and lot's of monitoring in between, especially in the summer. Keep that Black car buffed out also.

I have the california duster and it leaves scratches on the car when its warm. the only way to keep the dirt off would be to put some sort of car cover on it when not driving. it might be a hassle but no dirt on car, that or wash it.

Ions: yeah, I did do that. I think it's probably just residiual wax, plus an incompatability with Zaino. I dunno.

To clean your white letters and or side walls I have made the souls of more running shoes wet and then rubbed the white area on the tire with the runners.

Jza, I actually noticed that recently. It used to do pretty good, but now it seems to not work nearly as good. Maybe the zaino? who knows.
