Yellow letter tires. Let me know how this looks.

I'm finishing up about a dozen upgrades & repairs, and had to give this a try on my crappy old tires before they're tossed. I've always liked the look of yellow letter race tires, and wondered how it would work on my car. I bought a cheap paint pen, and it's pretty easy, but I can't decide if I like it. Some angles it looks awesome, other angles are terrible. This is with 2 coats, and I'll do one or two more.
Let me know, good or bad. Front tire is for a "before" shot comparison....

I think it looks better on tire profiles of 60 and up rather than lo-pros.

Personally, I prefer a cleaner look on cars. If it was my car, I would not do it. However, I think it looks good on your car. It also matches the old school look of your torque thrust rims.

Re: Yellow letter tires. Let me know how this looks.

I like raised white letters on low profile tires, The yellow is OK, but the painted lines might be a bit to much here. Maybe they will look good once you have done the other tire on that side so we can get an idea of the look.

Not bad.
Just the " Z " colored would have ppl wondering what tires you have.

Re: Yellow letter tires. Let me know how this looks.

Hmmmmm.... Almost unanimous. I'll pull the lines and see how it looks with just yellow letters. If I don't like that, this test is done.

Re: Yellow letter tires. Let me know how this looks.

Don't like it... Don't think I will.

I have seen some euro/exotic pseudo race cars lettering their tires and it looks ok, but I feel like it was done on these cars just to show off the super fancy competition style tires they are running. Doesn't flow with the your car.

It looks like more of a green. I think it would look ok with a softer yellow, might look good if it was white lettered.

It's eh to me. Maybe a more yellow and not lime greenish.

And before you throw them out, do some burnouts to get the last bit of tread out of them.

Re: Yellow letter tires. Let me know how this looks.

In the configuration you posted, I don't think so... you have to have the right wheels, tires, and stance to pull this look off. If the lettering is too small or awkward on the tires, it won't look good when you paint it. Here are some cars that pull it off:

I like it. But then I still am into the white letter look (But only when they are kept clean). Still, your car...your look!

The more I think about it, the more I want you to paint the lettering yellow.

Re: Yellow letter tires. Let me know how this looks.

Not enough yellow, too day glowish.Plus the letters are too small. The nascar yellow goodyears look great, nice big solid letters, no outline.

At the very least get rid of the stripe/Z & maybe the ultra & go true yellow.

All of those YES!

OP"s car? No.

The "Yellow" lettering looks is due to Nascar slicks mostly. Its big, bold lettering. Like Big_Modz car on the Hoosiers. It works great there.

it would look better if it was yellow letting, instead of what looks to be highlighter drawn over already white tire lettering

if you are going to run those lug nuts, see what it would look like with the letters matching that ... and maybe a matching pinstripe on that black paint ... but i just like purple and black ... lol
