This thread is a Nomination Thread to nominate cars that will compete for this month's Car of the Month honor. The 10 (or less) most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a *Voting Thread* in a couple of weeks. If you do not nominate a member's car for COTM, you can still second or third (fourth, fifth, so on) someone else's nomination. Cars must have at least a second nomination in order to make the Voting Thread.

• Do not nominate your own car. Your car must be nominated by another TGO Member.

• Do not ask your wife, husband, friends, extended family, etc. to register as TGO Members for the purpose of nominating your car.
  

• Do not nominate more than one car.

• Do not use multiple member accounts to nominate your own car or to nominate multiple cars.

• This is not a picture thread. Post only one (1) good photo of the car you wish to nominate. Do not use a photo-edited picture.

• You must post a picture with your nomination. This must be a full-sized picture (or at the very least, a pic or thumb that enlarges into a full-sized picture when you click on it).
  

• Correctly identify the user name of the member who you nominate.

• Correctly identify the year and model/trim of the car you nominate.

• Do not nominate cars that are not in a high quality, finished state.

• And if you are nominated, please DO go out and take an abundance of good quality photos of your ride (multiple angles, interior, engine) and make them publicly accessible (for example via a photo album in your public profile or some sort of hyperlink to your photo album.)

I'll nominate Buggy Disaster with his 91 Z28 for my nomination as I prefer a nicely modified vehicle over a good condition stock vehicle.

I feel you, as there are many more great cars out there. Lets just see them. I saw a bunch of awsome cars at the TGO Fest, but I dont have the member names. I am just going on what I am seeing.

I could thrown a "Third" in there for one of the nominees, but it would be wasted. I was looking for someone different. And if they won a while ago, I apologize, I didnt look that much into it.

There are MANY cars that are in this EVERY OTHER MONTH. Yet, that doesn't disqualify them.

Edit: Ok.. over 3 years ago. How many new members in 3 years?
He is still an active member, and just because he won 3 years ago, does not make him exempt from the voting.

I believe you can't nominate a car which has already won. I think I see a couple up there.

 

I believe it's 1 win per year. IDK, think I read that.

 

Its per year (12 mos). So as long as someone has not won COTM inside the last 12 months, they are eligible to be nominated.

 

So we'll see the same cars over and over...

I know, we have sooooooooooooo many cool cars on this site. You'd think we wouldn't need to go to the same watering holes over and over.

 

It come's down to participants. If you're a active member, just browsing the site, we see it. If you're a member in dire need cuz your car won't start or whatever the problem might be at the moment, and try and help them out, that's another. Sometimes feel like the shell answer man. I try and help where I can; I have no problem with that but ther're are a lot of beautiful cars out there. Just say'n.

I know, it just seems that way, same cars nominated over and over. They are nice cars and like you, I know there are MANY great cars here.

 

I know. and it does get stale. then again, not everyone is into the pageantry or are not inclined to do the legwork involved in participating. some guys with amazing cars may not appreciate how their cars can both inspire and represent Third Gen'ers. matter of fact, member TurboedTPI , who I'd never heard of before a day or two ago, with his turbocharged '92 Formula has me thinking that a turbo setup is just the thing for my Formula.


some of the most elite cars on this board are owned by Junior Members who rarely if ever post.

I do not wish to alienate those members who's cars have been recurring nominees, or who have even won COTM at some point in the past. they are welcome and wanted. but, I agree that there are too many worthy cars on this board that have yet to be discovered to not have at least a few of those sprinkled in on the reg.

I'm going to nominate Bubbajones_ya. The guy has turned his 91 RS from a junkyard or worse condition to one of the nicest third gens I have seen on the road. He even helped me a lot on mine. Great guy.

1991 RS 305 TBI WCT5 3.23 gears hardtop. Too much work to list so if he is nominated I'm sure he will be happy to share. He also has a build thread, like a lot of us, which is titled "Phoenix down".




I tried to crop my 88 out of the picture the best I could as to not take away from his car. His is the red metallic one focused on.

Absolutely agree with that statement. His IROC and other 1LE are off the chart , both low mile survivors.

I saw his old GTA at TA Nats last year, he had sold it by then, but it was beautiful also.

Its fine The OP has had issues in the past with people not following the rules which has given him much more work. I want to make sure that he will keep doing COTM for all of us and want to make sure we follow his rules so he will

and FWIW, for the most part, "my rules" are just the same rules that were in place when i took over for BADNBLK.

 

there are some bad *** cars that haven't been seconded yet.

how ironic it would be to have three turbocharged cars among all the rest on an Open Season, and to have had a total of two cars nominated on a Power Adder month.

maybe irony isn't the right word.
