what paint type for my air cleaner?

Well,
I finally got my L69 air cleaner and I want to freshen it up before putting it on the car. What type paint shoud I use? Should I use gloss or satin finish? Clearcoat? High heat? It has decent (no rust) paint on it now, but I would like it to look new. Any advice will help. THANKS!!

Mark

i have 3 open elements, 2 chromes and one I painted, I used case gloss black (I work in a tractor dealorship) and it turned out just fine, heat wasn't a problem, so i tell you its probably safe (heat) to use any, just pick the one you like best.
