Should I get a hood or not?

My hood got beat all to hell from the person who owned it before me and a tree lemb or something fell on it and made a huge scratch. Someone touched it up and it isn't easy to see but I know its there . I have a RS V6 and I want a different hood but I dont wanna get a SS hood or anything crazy cause of the lack of power. But I would like a lighter hood. Anyone?

I heard they suck at fitting. How much weight would that shave off?

Id' suggest if you want somethign stock, but not radical, but different, why not go to your junk yard and find a good looking Z-28 Hood? With blister or Louvnders. I personally liek the 90 up hood blisters, I play on getting them for my car.

Yea I was thinking about a 91-92 Z28 hood but 1: it would weigh more than mine and 2: I wouldnt want people thinking I was a poser.

Monkie... almost all aftermarket hoods are a horrible fit. Even the ones that people say fit perfect have their mess ups and don't. ASCD seems to be one of the better ones I've heard of.

Don't let the bad fit keep you from getting it... almost anything can be fit onto the car. That, or as said above, you can stick with a stock hood.

Ohhh..just noticed your sig too. I think you left out the nitrous on the 97Z....

But damn I would feel like such a poser if I slapped on a Z28 hood. What do you guys think? I do LOVE the looks of them...

P.S. I will fix the sig for you guys

Just build it the way you want it. As long as you don't add Z-28 or IROC emblems, you aren't a poser.
