Wetsanding: Soap or not to soap
I am refinishing my air cleaner and have applied three coats of black over the primer. I have seen wetsanding done with and without soap. They (magazines) have said that soap will help keep the sandpaper lubricated and clean when used with water. What do you think?

O.K., I have wetsanded the lid with 1500 grit sandpaper and soapy water. There is no more "orange peel" on it, now, what do I do next to bring out the shine? Do I use regular polish, rubbing compound, or what? What brand of whatever I use would be best? Thanks for all of your help!
