New Taillight Re-design w/pic!
Hello,
I currently on a few different tail light re-design for third Gen Camaros. It would help me speed up the process if I had cad files. Would anybody be able to offer up or direct me to where I could obtain cad files for third Gen Camaros ?!?
thanks in advance !

I don't know if they exist... not a single person in the world even builds new taillights for our cars.... it's wild.

I think taking the bull by the horns and doing something that you really wanna see happen is awesome. That being said....a word of caution. Don't over design just ONE part of the car. A bone stock 80's era car with modern tailights may look a little......odd. Part of the charm of any older car is the period of time that it came from.

I think that you are absolutely right, I think the goal here is to find a way to pay homage original charm of the car and at the same time balance some modern technology into the vehicle.

I love the first look so much! Almost Dodge Charger like but still unique. I'm very interested to see what progress you make with this.

Hopefully there is somebody out there in the boards that has the cad files laying around somewhere!

I really like the second concept design, You throw in some sequential LEDs and I think you might have a winner! But definitely keep refining and churning out ideas

Sequential tailights is what started this complicated mess lol. But they will for sure be integrated in the design.

look back and pay homage while looking forward, the older camaros and firebirds have elements many third gen owners appreciate.
the 70 camaro(and a lot of corvettes, chevelles etc) had dual round tail lights(my personal favorite) and the 67-69 firebird
had two thin strips per side, find a way to possibly incorporate these ideas into a third gen (camaro AND FIRE BIRD)

the best way to pull this off is to get an original set of lenses and measure them(or ask a member).use this as a cad file or dimensional baseline
