Re: July 2021 COTM "Convertibles" **Voting Thread**
I bought this car 2 years ago. It is/was all original until I did an engine swap this past winter. I had two goals with the engine swap. It had to be period correct in appearance and it had to keep all factory systems (A.I.R, cat, A/C, stupid coolant valve, HEI,etc) . So now it has an 11:1 compression 383 with AFR heads, Lingenfelter LPE219 cam, Super Ram, Dyno Dons headers and GMMG cat back. Crank hp is estimated over 500 but she hasn’t been on a Dyno yet. Still finalizing tuning.
The car is 1 of 86 and a true Z03 Z28. Originally 305 auto and I kept the engine and technically could go back in but I highly doubt that will ever happen.

Men, women and children of all ages, welcome back my friends to the show that never ends, COTM, we're so glad you can attend look inside, look inside. Behold a 1991 Bright Red Z28, Fredrica! She's a beauty, a one in a million ride, why would I lie? She looks great for her age, still has original color on the hood and sides. Her heart, soul and top are original also. She has had some cosmetic surgery, a few lifts and tucks along the way. She runs as strong as when she was young and is as feisty as ever! She is smooth to the touch but still a little rough around the edges. She is not hard to handle and will get up and go at the turn of the key and then put a smile on your face! She will ride you hard just don't put her away wet. Her rear sticks out a little wider then when she was young but she has aged gracefully with a little help from me. She is one fine example of a Third Gen Camaro Vert for everyone to see under the big top! Come and See the Show...
Thanks for attending the over the big top car show! Make sure you vote for Fredrica on your way out and hope to see you back here next month, Just Don't Fall in Love....

I want to thank whomever nominated my 89 Formula 350 Convertible, It is quite unexpected, and honestly it probably looks better in pictures than it does in reality. It may be that I am just picky.
There were a whopping 43 Formula 350 Convertibles made by ASC from 1987-1992, which makes this literally one of the rarest 3rd Gens to be produced. Although not "offically" a factory Convertible, it shares the same pieces and parts as any Factory Convertible for the given year. It shares 97% of the pieces from a Factory Camaro Convertible conversion, the obvious is the Quarter panel Caps, and the rear 3rd brake light. The Spoiler is actually a Base Firebird wing which has been cut down.
It still wears the original paint, and only 38,250 original miles makes it one of the lowest miles surviving Formula 350 convertibles, I suspect there is only one which has lower miles.
Thank you for the nomination, I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Not sure a car has ever looked better as a droptop than a 3rd gen. They pull off the toughest part of being a convertible: looking good with the top up.

Congratulations to all of the nominees. These 3 convertibles are all fantastic. Having an '88 Trans Am of my own I know I'm somewhat bias toward the Firebirds. John's '89 Formula looks great and I've always loved the deep dish wheels. 86FyrBrd's low mileage 92' Camaro with the engine swap is a fantastic car and looks brand new. And finally Vinny's 91 Z28 droptop, well, "she's a beauty". Great creativity in his description based on the 80's hit, She's a Beauty by The Tubes. Thanks Vinny for taking me back to the days of my youth and when I purchased my Trans Am.
I haven't made up my mind yet as these 3 area all deserving. Well done gentlemen!
