third gen firebird sheriff's car
third gen firebird sheriff's car
hey guys,
I'm in the middle of testing to become a broward county sheriff, I'm almost done with the tests and will be applying soon. heres the deal I was going to just paint my car red again when I get all the body work done. but now I'm thinking about making it into a sheriffs car. what do you think. the car would be white with a green and gold strip down the side. does anyone know the restictions on doing this, I know no blue lights, but can I still drive it each day, or does it have to be a show car only. my car has t-tops, can I still put a light bar just behind the t-tops. can someone photoshop me a picture of one, I'll try but I'm not that good at it. my car is an 87 trans am. lets hear your thoughts.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure that most departments have copyrights on their paint schemes, making it illegal to paint your car like that...they might also try to throw an impersonating an officer charge at you...this is not a good idea.
actually I'm a sworn deputy already, but now I'm trying to become a paid officer. and I don't know about copyrights but they sell ex-police cars here still painted like police cars, they just don't say the actual words police. so they can't stop me from using a pattern, and I don't want a camaro, I have a trans am and have not seen one like that yet
